I have a 1 horsepower hayward super pool pump with an a.o. smith motor. I broke this plastic part while replacing a seal in the pump. I believe this is the part I need. Is this part used on a Hayward 1 horsepower super pump?
Reply
Hayward has used a few different motors on there 1 HP Super Pump over the years, however this switch does work on many motors including most of which were used on the 1 HP Super Pump. I would double check your measurements of your switch vs. the measurements we have here 2"DIA X 1-1/4" OVAL X 3-1/8"H and if they match up than I would feel relatively confident this part would work for you.

I accidentally broke this part on the back of my motor and now it will not work. If I replace this saw-25 will that take care of my motor issue?
Reply
Yes, if this switch has broken then that very well could be the reason that you motor is not working any longer. Replace then test.

Hi Matt, Usually a humming motor is due to a capacitor going bad. Here is a guide showing you How to Select the Correct Capacitor For Your Pool Motor which may be of help.

How could I tell if this part is bad?

Hi Carl, You can tell if the Stationary Switch is bad if with 15 seconds you do not hear a click that would indicate that the switch has been activated making contact with the governor.
