Is this the correct gasket for American Products Model R-100 BC? Also, is there an LED bulb I can use? The product indicates R-30; 100 watt; 12 volt. Thanks very much.

Good morning Henry, Yes, This is the correct lens gasket. I would recommend the LED Pool Bulb Color Changing 12V 18W - PL5815. It is a great bulb and it is on sale at only $99.00.

I have two American Products pool lights. 500 watts / 120 V/ R40 bulb type. I have replaced gaskets already and a pool repair guy reinstalled lights. Both of them leaked. I have put silicone on the power cord leading into the light housing. The light housing says series 7885xx, 7845xx, 7895xx. Use with model 7821xx, 7822xx, 7823xx, 79206700, 79208900 fixture housing. Wet niche type.
What is the right gasket? Thanks.

I have same question as Jon F from 6/13/2017. My light has a label with exactly the same model numbers. However, the old gasket measures 8 ¾ OD, 7 ½ ID and 5/8 thickness. Your website shows the dimensions as 8 ¼ OD, same ID of 7 ½ and thickness of 7/8. Has my old one been compressed so much that its thickness has reduced and the OD increased? Also, should I use any lubricant with the new gasket?

Hi, Peter S. If you're measuring the gasket while it is on the lens then it will be a little bit larger in diameter because the gasket stretches over the lens. No lubricant is required when installing this gasket.

Hello. I have a Pentair Amerlite p/n 78456300. My current white gasket around th lens measures 8.5” OD, 7.5” ID and what appears to be 3/4” thick. To my knowledge this is the original gasket that came with the light 3 years ago. Is this gasket a correct (exact) replacement?

i have a American Products Model# R-500 BC pool light ,I am looking for a replacement gasket .
Sizes i see are not matching
R-40
CN-5 Fixture
78454100 is my light
I have this gasket in good shape but I noticed the slightest moisture inside the housing when I changed the light bulb (which burned out faster than I would have expected).
1. Are you supposed to apply thin silicone to these to help seal?
2. Is the orange upgrade ring the superior answer?
3. I have already had to epoxy the cord/housing interface to keep water out. What is Inyo's rec. on a BEST new light that does not leak?

We have been selling a generic (90-423-1170 ) with no issues. You do NOT need to add silicone the lens gasket. If the gasket is in perfect shape then we recommend you look again at the epoxied repair at the back of the light niche where the cord comes in.
