Will this unit work on a h250idl?
Reply
Hello Ron - According to Hayward you must use the IDXLHXA1250 heat exchanger.

Sir - is the 1250 the same as, or compatible with the 1250A?

Hi, The FDXLHXA1250A is for an ASME unit which is for commercial use, it's not compatible with FDXLHXA1250.

I have a 3 year old Hayward H250FDN pool heater serial #:
(21) 1313041019883001. Will this heat exchanger fit into my heater? There is 6623-451 and 6223-190 listed. Do you need the kit in order to make the replacement exchanger fit into my heater? Are these items brand new?

I have the older H250ED2 model. Is this the correct part for this model?

Hello Sonni, this goes to your H250ED2 series. I would just check http://www.inyopools.com/parts_hayward_commercial_asme.aspx for checking the heater, and double check with Hayward 1 (800) 657-2287 because the heater is obsolete, please just call confirm.

I had a Hayward 400 installed with my in-ground pool/spa in the year 2001
The heater wore out last year and had a Hayward 200 installed for the spa only.
The new heater core has failed and is now leaking right beyond the manifold.
I have looked online and it appears the heater core is only sold with the manifold and related accessories.
What is the warranty on the heater core for the Hayward 200 and if I have to replace a 1 year old part, or do I need to buy the manifold as well?

Hi Ray, The heat exchanger assembly comes complete so it will be wise to replace everything even though it's a year old. Once it's installed by a professional the assembly comes with a 1 year limited warranty.

Planning to order the FDXLHXA1250 heat exchanger for my H250FDN heater. Will I require any other parts to replace the old heat exchanger?

Hello Robert, I would double check with Hayward 800-657-2287 tech services by your serial number of your current heater to see if you need any other parts aside from what is present in the 6223-190 Heat Exchanger Assembly H250 Uhsln (fdxlhxa1250).

Is this the exact replacement for the H250fdn heater as this looks a bit different, we just received this heater exchange from you? The outside copper pipes is not exposed as the original one on my unit. Your replacement has a new pvc cover that covers the copper pipes. I am not sure, did we received the correct item?

Hello, The 6223-190 is correct heat exchanger for H250fdn. You might want to send in pictures if you want our techs to look at this to upload@inyopools.com

I have a brand new H250FDN unit that is leaking at the heat exchanger. There is a crack in a removable 2-piece plastic cover that connects the middle heat exchanger tubes together beneath the header assembly. The parts diagram does not have this part. The diagram only shows the copper tubes soldered together with U-shaped tubes. Is it possible to purchase this plastic 2-piece cover for the (apparently) newer design or do I need to replace the whole heat exchanger?

Jim, I would recommend calling Hayward to have a service tech to come out and determine what parts need to be replaced. That way, your warranty will remain intact.

Does Hayward make this heat exchanger in stainless steel. We have a salt pool and the current heat exchanger is pretty corroded.
Reply
Unfortunately, these do not come in stainless steel. Just cupro-nickel.
