does this filter, Jacuzzi earthworks EW36 D.E. (94081036) come with a filter or is it just a container and does it replace the old single slotted filter design

Hello, the replacement Pentair Filter - 4000 Series SMBW4048 D.E Filter 48 Sq. Ft. W/ Valve - 011555 would be closer to what you used to have. Please check specs to see if this matches your current output filter.

Where is the control valve for run, filter, backwash ect...?

Hi, Lee. The built-in valve is located at the bottom of the filter's base.

Hello Michael, the Jacuzzi Earthworks EW72 D.E. Filter - 94081072 would be the closest to the direct replacement if you needed EW75.
