Hi. The check valve is designed especially for high corrosive environments like being installed next to a chlorinator. It will last, I can't say forever but it will for a few seasons. The replacement Corrosion Resistant Flapper Assembly & Cover - 25830-350-800 is available if it fails.

Hello, Would you recommend this check valve in the suction side of the pool system? Out of the skimmer and before the pump? Sam

I've noticed there are check valves vale with a 2 lb. spring and some with 1/2 lb. spring. What is the reason for this? I would like a corrosion resistant valve but only seen it in a 2 lb. I do not want to add any unneeded stress to the system.

Hi, Jared. The pump performance or flow rate info is required when sizing a check valve. The higher the flow the higher the spring.

Thank you. I should have known this would be your answer. Unfortunately the data plate to the pump is M.I.A. and all I know it is a Hayward and motor has a sticker with model# UST1072. I am interested in upgrading to a variable speed at some point, but wouldn't know where to begin on sizing it. Could you help?

Jared, If you can provide the following info, I can. The pump housing model, Total Dynamic Head (TDH) and where the check valve will be positioned.

Are the internals of this available to be purchased separately? As in just the clapper and gasket?

My current check valve I feel is causing the spa to drain. There is not much room to install so I have it presently plumbed inbetween 1 1/2 inch pipe. I understand the replacement is 1 1/2 and 2"? How do I install the 2" side?

Hello Douglas. The Custom Molded Products Check Valve 25830-350-000 connection ports accommodate 1 1/2" PVC, inside (both sides are 1 1/2" inside connections) and 2" PVC, outside (both sides can accommodate 2" outside connections). A 2" PVC, Schedule 40 Coupling is used on the outside, and the 2" PVC Schedule 40 Pipe is then connected inside the Coupling. If the current plumbing is 1 1/2", then the check valve will fit with no changes. If there is limited space to install a check valve, the Clear Check Valve 1.5" - 1/2 lb. w/ Unions - 1700C15 comes complete with union connections. The unions can facilitate installation in tight spaces. The unions are 1 1/2" inside connections.
