Would this work for swimming pool as I will be using it to prevent back flow water from the filter tank and returning to the pool? This is 2" and can be used with sch 40 or 80 piping

Hello Ramon - This valve is designed for swimming pool plumbing. You can use sch 40 or 80.

I have plumbed a Sta-Rite 1hp Max Pro pump and a Sta-Rite System 3 500 cartridge filter with an off line CL220 Hayward chlorinator (all recently purchased from you). Everything runs fine except all water drains back in pool when turned off. What I read tells me I need a check valve to fix the problem (none in plumbing). What do you recommend and where should it be installed? Pump and filter about 3 ft above pool and draining seems to be from both filter and pump sides of plumbing.

Hi Bob, You can install a check valve on the return side, install a check valve on the suction side can be very tricky. You do have a self priming pump which good for applications like yours. Depending on the feet of head you do not want to add more restriction on the suction side of the pump.

I'm installing a heatpump and 1.65hp variable speed pump and need to install a check valve between the heater and clorinator. They recommend a 1/3 lb check valve, I wanted to know if this 2 ld valve would work or if you would recommend a different one?

Part number 170020, which is a 1/2 pound check valve, is going to be the closest to 1/3 pound check valve that we carry.

Hi. This 2lb check valve will work if your pump is sufficed to open the spring. I would recommend the Clear Check Valve 2" - 1/2 lb. w/ Unions - 1700C20.

I`m installing 1/2 hp whisperfow EE, then 150 square foot swim clear cartridge filter Then CHECKVALVE Then 200 sq ft solar on roof
and then possibly heater [for winter heating], and last del ozone and degasser unit. What type and spring strength check valve should I use. Thanks Dave

Hi, Dave. With a 1/2 HP pump, I would not recommend the anything over 1 pound depending on which part of the system it's being placed.

Will this check vale be the same size diameter as my Hayward t cell 15 ? As I'm not home at this time? Also when I add this to prevent erosion from my salt cell will it prevent my losing prime if I shut my filter pump off possibly ? Or would I need to add a second one at a different spot?
Thanks

Hi, Dennis. This check valve does have 2" port like the union used on the Hayward Turbo Cell. Installing this check valve between the cell and the heater/filter will not prevent the pump from priming. It will have to be installed on the suction side of the system.

I would be installing this between my heater and chlorinator. The water would be flowing vertically downward. I have a 2.7hp variable speed pump. I'm hesitate in using the spring type check valves because of the added flow restriction. So I would prefer to use a swing check valve. Would this work?

Hello Collin. The Custom Molded Products Check Valve model 25830-400-000 would be the correct check valve for your application. This is a Spring Flapper Check Valve and does not impede water flow as compared to a Spring Check Valve. It can be mounted vertically or horizontally. It is also available in a 1.5" inside X 2" outside pipe size model.
