What's the best way to clean the cell?

Mix one quart of muriatic acid with one gallon of tap water in a plastic five (5) gallon bucket. Always add acid to the water, never add water to the acid. Always wear eye protection and use rubber gloves. Always work in a well-ventilated areaPlace the cell vertically in the bucket with the cap end down, as shown in right side illustration. Carefully pour the acid solution (as described above) into the cell until the blades are just covered. Allow the acid solution to bubble, and to clean the blades. The acid should only be contained in the cell and not around it. A foaming action will begin, which is caused by scale being dissolved from the plates. If rigorous foaming action does not begin, the cell does not need to be cleaned.

Does this plug into the existing power box mounted on the wall?
Hi Brian, Yes this PureLine Replacement Salt Cell for Pentair IntelliChlor IC20 does plug into the existing power box mounted on the wall. Just make sure your model is an IC20 and not an IC40 or IC60 as those require a different part # as the replacement.

Is this a direct replacement for the IC20 without any plumbing modifications?

Why is this product no longer available for sale? I don't these replacement cells listed on purelinepool.com either. I purchased a PL-7155 in early May. I am just concerned about the warranty and wondering why pureline not selling this product, safety issue?

Hi Byron, We quickly sold out of these cells and we are producing them as we speak. The website should more accurately state back-ordered and not no longer available. How is your cell working so far for you?
