WILL IT WORK ON INGROUND VINYL POOL
Reply
Hello, we do not recommend using this product on a vinyl pool.
Reply
Why? The specs list is as being OK for vinyl. I have an above ground, knockdown, vinyl pool with rounded corners (Splash brand) that's up all the time. I've used an Aquabug for years. Thanks.

Hi Dave, we are sorry but our initial reply was inaccurate, the R2 will work on a vinyl pool.

What are the difference between suction, pressure and robot cleaners?
Reply
Hi, Miguel. You can reference our Which Type of Automatic Cleaner Should I Use? Blog which outlines the differences

1.) Is the hose that comes with it all in lengths or all in one piece. 2.) Can the regular hose we use for our manual cleaning be used? 3.) Does the discharge go into the filter or is it self contained?
Reply
Hi Francis, The hose that comes with the R2 cleaner comes in 4' sections. The regular hose for manual cleaning cannot be used with this cleaner. The dirt and debris which is sucked up by the cleaner goes back to your pool pump basket and the smaller debris would go to your pool filter.

How much larger is the throat on this cleaner vs. the The Pool Cleaner 4 Wheel Cleaner?
Reply
We have measured both The Pool Cleaner 4 Wheel 4X Cleaner and the PureLine R2 Cleaner and the opening/throat at the bottom of the cleaner where the debris is sucked up is pretty much identical in size. The opening is a rectangular shape and measures approximately 1 1/5" (1.18") x 55/64" (.86").

So if the hose is plugged into the suction line then I would have to attach and detach the hose each time I would run it to clean, Is that correct. I've never had a cleaner so I'm not familiar with how they work.

Hi Daniel, Thanks for the question! We have customers who leave the cleaner in the pool all the time and others who take it out after ever cleaning. For longevity sake, it is best to remove the cleaner when not using it. However, the hose will stay in the suction port even when the pump is off.

What is the difference between the pressure cleaner, suction cleaner and the robotic cleaner?

I have a $600 Dolphin that picks up big debris like leaves. But it does not get the service dust and small particles a vacuum picks up. Is this machine made for bigger debris? I am looking for something that gets the tiniest of debris as I already have the dolphin...
Reply
Hi, Faith. This unit can be used to pick up smaller particles. However, the suction power of your system will determine how well the unit performs.

Will this clean the fine dust particles from pool floor
Reply
Hi, Ron. This unit does have the capability to clean up fine particles, however, if you main filter or pre-filter is unable to capture the fine particles it will recirculate back into the pool.

Does this get stuck by the steps ?
Does it pick up leave (whole leaves) that have sunk to the bottom ?
How many years does this last leaving it in the pool and running it every day, all year round ?
Thanks if you can help
Reply
Yes, in my experience with the PureLine PureLine R2 Automatic Pool Cleaner it will get stuck by the steps. But, so will about 90% of the cleaners on the market currently, unfortunately. It will pick up the larger debris like the whole leaves in your pool. We can not answer the last question, as the life of these cleaners is a function of how hard they are working and the pool water chemistry.

Have in ground pool, and using barracuda MX8 Elite....Can I use your PL1804? Also heard this is a discontinued model and replacement parts are no available. How many hoses come with the unit and does it have a warranty?
Reply
Yes the PL1804 would be a great replacement for the Barracuda MX8. This cleaner is not discontinued and parts are available. The R2 comes with 40' of hose which is 12 1 meter hoses.

I was not able to find this product listed in the manufacturer's web site www.purelinepool.com nor replacement parts for it on your website.
As of June 2019, has this product been discontinued?
Reply
Hi John, This cleaner has not been discontinued, it's a brand new model that just recently came out on the market and has yet to be put up on the manufacturer's website. We will be putting the replacement parts up on our website shortly.

My current suction cleaner gets jammed by acorns that fall into the pool. Will this cleaner have the same problem?
Reply
Generally, it depends on the size of the acorn. For larger debris like acorns, pressure side cleaners would be the best choice.

My Baracuda gets stuck on the drain cover at the bottom of the pool as well as the corners of the pool. When the Baracuda comes to the drain cover or a corner and attempts to bridge it, it loses it's suction because of the gap formed by the cover and corners and stops, staying there until I pull it off. Will the PureLine R2 Automatic Pool Cleaner correct this problem?
Reply
Hello, Yes, the R2 cleaner will not caught up a drain cover or corners.

Never owned an automatic pool cleaner. What’s the motive force, in other words how does it move around, battery?
Reply
Hi, Marsan. This unit is operated by the suction created by the pools pump and filter through.

I bought this cleaner back in the summer. It will run for a little while then just stop for no apparent reason. I have attached a pic of it just sitting on the bottom. The wheels stop and there is no green flashing light. If I pic it up, it will start running again. I would like a cleaner that I did not have to check on every 15 minutes. This is just a rectangular vinyl pool. Any suggestions would be helpful.
What can i do if the hose keeps getting twisted?
Reply
Hi Timothy. Be sure the hose is the correct length for your pool per the owner's manual and be sure to store the hose in straight sections and not coil it up when it is not in use. Excessive hose length, storing the hose coiled up, and not installing the hose float(s) correctly are the most common reasons it will get kinked in usage.
