Hi, I have a Jandy DEV48 that I bought 2 summers ago. I am having trouble with the filter expelling the DE powder back into the pool. It is obviously the filter is not allowing the powder to adhere to the filter. What do I need to replace or do?

Hello Martha, You will need to open your filter and inspect each individual grid and the manifold for any . There is the Jandy DEV Series DE Parts diagram if you need it for reference. The DE powder will flow back into the pool when there is a rip, tear, or crack in one of these parts. If you are unable to locate the broken part, I would recommend you contact a service technician to assist you.

what does the unit come with and what other items do i need to purchase Martin

Martin, The DEV48 is for the filter tank and the "guts" of the filter. Aside from this, you will need to purchase the multiport valve.

I have a jandy 48 sq ft DE filter that was installed with my pool in 2005. the top is faded and blue in color and I can't make out the model number, but the serial number is 2931434, the model looks like maybe SL22JC. It appears to be leaking water when pump is on,(not backwashing). A small amount water is coming out of the backwash tube. It may be a gasket to repair? I don't know what part to order to fix it.

Unfortunately, I do not recognize your model#. It sounds like you have a bad spider gasket in your multiport valve. If you can attach a picture of the filter and valve I should be able to identify your filter and find the correct spider gasket for you.
