I Want to install a variable speed pump and my
Present system includes a 1.5 HP pump and a Jandy RS6 controller. What do I need to purchase to install a variable speed pump that is 100% compatible with my my RS6?

This depends on the revision of your software, do you know the revision letter of your Aqualink software or roughly how old the software is? If your Aqualink is older then 4 years then you would need to get this conversion kit here http://www.inyopools.com/controls_jandy_control.aspx (bottom of page) Part # 7092 which includes the new software and a new upgraded indoor control remote. There is also a stand alone remote control here which will work http://www.inyopools.com/Products/02600018047487.htm

I have a Jandy Stealth pump with a single speed 1.5 HP motor. I want to upgrade to a variable speed motor. Part number 5020-122 MFG Code R0474402. I do not see that you sell just the motor. Do I need to buy the complete pump and motor assemply or is the motor available stand alone to mount to my current pump?

If you would like to get the 5020-122 that is the specific motor for a Jandy E-pump, which we do not carry seperated from the entire pump assembly. You could, however, purchase part number ECM16SQU and that would be a replacement motor that would be compatible with your Jandy Stealth.

What would I save in energy
Would I save at least 60% or more?

(5 out of 5 stars) energy savings cleaner pool
Reviewed By: pools by ben from santa clarita, CA ()
Pros: energy savings and cleaner pool
Cons: expensive
I have personally installed some of these pumps in southern California and they are excellent. Every install saves $55 - $105 a month. We program for 22 hours at 20gpm and 2 hours at about 60gpm. The slow speed makes the water crystal clear. When you vacuum or run spa jets it can do up to 125gpm. That is about 2 horsepower. Your pool service company should be able to give you an exact electrical savings for your situation. Pump is almost silent. You have to stand next to it and listen carefully when it is in the 22 hour slow speed. Awesome!

(5 out of 5 stars) Great pump
Reviewed By: Mark P. from Huntersville, nc ()
Pros: Super quiet. Easy to install
Cons: None.
Maybe I'm just used to a single speed pump and the noise it creates but this pump replaced my 13 year old single speed Hayward and it is amazingly quiet. It was super easy to install as far as the electronics and the connection to the iaqualink. The only work I really had to do was getting the suction side to line up so I had to cut the pipes and add a few couplers to my drain valve assemblies and raise all 3 about three quarters of an inch. That didn't take long to do as long as you understand some basic plumbing with PVC piping I also had a little bit of a start up issue with Iaqualink because it doesn't explain in the instructions that you need to actually go onto the web browser and set the pump up so that it will recognize the pump. Other than that so far so good it runs super quiet you can't even hear it at 1750 rpm At 2250 RPM you can barely hear a home in the waterfall drowned it out
