I Want to install a variable speed pump and my

This depends on the revision of your software, do you know the revision letter of your Aqualink software or roughly how old the software is? If your Aqualink is older then 4 years then you would need to get this conversion kit here http://www.inyopools.com/controls_jandy_control.aspx (bottom of page) Part # 7092 which includes the new software and a new upgraded indoor control remote. There is also a stand alone remote control here which will work http://www.inyopools.com/Products/02600018047487.htm

I currently have a pentair challenger single speed 1HP motor. 2" pipes, 12.5k gallon pool with 48sf filter (about 15ft from pool and 45ft from farthest skimmer). Is it possible to use a 2HP pump on my system as long as I used the lower 4 speeds or could it cause a problem? Thank you.

Yes this should work just fine operating within gpm ratings. I recommend to make sure that you use a 2 hp uprate model pump.

Will this model communicate with the Jandy motherboard I have and the Jandy controls I have inside the house?

It's going to depend on which automation system you have. That pump only works with Aqualink RS/OneTouch, ePump controller and Aqualink RS PDA

How do I read the automation system on my current installation?

If you don't have any indications on your current unit then you can attach a picture of it so I can identify it.

(4 out of 5 stars) Good product
Reviewed By: Ross S. from Fairfield, CT ()
Pros: Quality construction, features and efficiency
Cons: Price, setup documentation and non-standard dimensions
I would have given this 5 stars if the dimensions were not so different than standard pumps. That required all new plumbing. There was also no documentation as to how the pump needs to configured using the RS panel. Tech support is great however.

The Jandy variable pump is as quite as we had hoped for and it runs like a charm. We are very happy making the switch.

(5 out of 5 stars) Great Pump for Aqualink
Reviewed By: WaterMister from Orlando, FL ()
Pros: Energy Efficient, Large Plumbing Ports, Large Basket
Cons: None
This is a great variable speed pump, I was impressed by the shear size of this pump, it so much bigger than my Hayward Super II pump. Super Quiet and I lover the large inlet and outlet ports which accomodate 2.5" plumbing.
