PRODUCT DISCLAIMER :
*Please Note: Some pools can expect less cooling if they have pebble (light or dark), quartz, tile, or dark plaster finishes due to the added heat load by these finishes from the sun. However, if your pool has a pebble finish (any color), quartz, tile, or any dark colored plaster bottom and your pool volume is close to the gallon limits above, you should go up one size when choosing your unit.

Can I install my self? What is the refrigerant? Must it be replenished?
Reply
Yes, anyone can install the pool cooler themselves. In the bottom basis in the box is the installation ,operation manual with diagram and parts list. You can go to a local hardware store and get the proper installation parts. There is no refrigeration, no freon or gas to operate. Electric 110 Volt 60 Hertz 8 Amps fan does the work. This unit hooks up with the pool pump breaker. The home breaker powering the pool pump and pool cooler must be 20 Amps or above.

Does the Glacier pool cooler have a thermostat? If not how do you regulate temperature?
Reply
The GPC does not come with a temperature control. In most cases an owner will run their cooler at night along with their pool's cycle. An owner may find that running the pool a longer or shorter amount of time will give them their optimal temperature.
Reply
Is this an evaporative cooler - or does it just cool water by running at night with lower temperatures? How does it work?
Reply
Yes, this system is based on evaporative cooling. The manufacture has modified the technology to accommodate the swimming pool industry. The pool water is circulated through the system while a fan cools the droplets and removes the heat from the water instantly. The water is then pumped back into the pool lines and circulated back into the pool.

Our summer temperatures average 98-103. Our pool is extremely warm. How much of a drop in water temperature can we expect? Does the unit have to run continually to be effective and finally, what type of operating costs can be attributed to this unit?
Reply
The pool cooler will drop the pool 10 to 15 degrees. The operating costs are around a dollar a night on running the cooler 10 hours. It does not have to run continually, just run it at night when the sun is off the pool and it will perform and drop this pool down and be refreshing.
Reply
Can this cooling system be used with a salt water pool?
Reply
All of the chillers we carry are salt water compatible. After a couple of weeks of usage, spray down the pool cooler with a garden hose to wash off salt residue if any.

Hello, I just purchased a pool chiller from your company. Prior to the chiller my pool has been unusable. It's temperature was 95 degrees before installation of the chiller. Now it is a refreshing 83 degrees. I cannot recommend your company enough. It is very rare that a product lives up to it's rputation, but yours certainly does. Thank you again.

Pros: Water is cold
Cons: warranty parts take a while to replace
I had my entire pool tiled and never realized how hot the water would get during the summer in Phoenix AZ. After researching chillers, I decided to purchase the Glacier. 3 years and no regrets, other than the water being too cold.

Pros: It does work and will cool your pool.
Cons: Customer support is not good. They could of been more helpful.
It works well but when we went to hook it up, the bottom pipe was leaking. We called the number and got a recording. After a day or so they said have my plumber fix the problem. It was a fixable problem but I should of been compensated something for the time and the expense for the plumber

Pros: it works!!
Cons: a little noisy, bigger than i thought
Thank you! I just bought the pool chiller after installing a 18x30 above ground pool which heated up to a miserable 98 degrees in the hot Florida sunshine, no refreshment there at all. After reading many reviews we went with the Glacier and IT WORKS!! Over night our pool went from 92 degrees down to 84 and it feels great. Thank you for suppling a product that does what it claims to do. I would recommend this product to any one who has an above ground pool that feels like a hot tub.

(5 out of 5 stars) Great pool cooler
Reviewed By: swimfin from Pineville, LA ()
Pros: Great cooler, low electricty usage
Cons: noisy
We ordered this pool cooler after we could not use our pool in June of '09 due to the dry, hot, early summer here in Louisiana. My husband and his brother (they are both pretty handy) installed the cooler in one afternoon. It cooled the pool down to a comfortable temp. in less than one 24 hour period. In 48 hours it was a very enjoyable cool temp. We were concerned about our electric bill going up with the use of the cooler but we saw very little increase in our bill, it's about like running a box fan, that was a pleasant surprise.
