Will the AO Smith UCT1152 cost less to run than the UST1152?
Reply
Yes, the UCT1152 will cost less to operate compared to the standard UST1152. Depending on how the motor is cared for, it should last several years. When replacing the motor, I would recommend buying a tune up kit based on your pump model and age.

Will this motor fit a Hayward Super pump model SP2610X15?

Yes, the UCT1152 will fit your pump. I would also recommend a GOKIT3: http://www.inyopools.com/Products/00500022000632.htm?Keywords=gokit3

Hello Ray - The UCT1152 is not the correct replacement motor. Model USQ1152 would be the correct replacement. The seals would depend on the make and model of your pump. Our Pool Pump Parts Page has a list of most of the common pool pumps. The seals can be found on this page.

(5 out of 5 stars) Perfect solution for my old Hayward Motor replacement.
Reviewed By: Inyo Customer ()
I replace my old Hayward pump with this unit. The old pump was over 10 years old and started to make terrible noises. Upon inspection it was toast and couldn't be fixed and needed to be replaced. This was the perfect unit as I needed the 1.5HP and even better that this one is more energy efficient. Don't forget to by the pump seal kit if you are just replacing the motor. You may as well do both and have everything working properly. I will likely buy another one of these to have as a backup.

(5 out of 5 stars) Good after-purchase support from Inyo.

Arrived quickly. I had looked at the videos on the Inyo site and am mechanically experienced. One of the videos talked about a common problem removing a piece from the old setup. I thought I had it but had only removed half of it, because I didn't want to force anything. Technical support worked perfectly, diagnosed the only possible causes, and got me going quickly. Now I have a quieter motor and a pump that works.

This product was delivered quickly and easy to install but didn't last long for the money. I purchased this in February of 2018 and as of today 12/10/19 it is screaming loud. The Hayward that it replaced lasted 10 years so expected much more than just 20 months and just my luck the warranty is only for 12 months. I would not suggest this product!

Reviewed By: Gil J. from Crystal River, FL ()
Pros: Quiet
Cons: wire terminal location and inferior screw terminals.
The pump was delivered in a couple of days which was great. The pump has 2 design flaws. First, the electrical connections are within a half inch or so of the conduit connection. This makes for unnecessary difficulty when connecting the wiring. The pump it replaced had its connects at least 2" from the conduit connection. Second, the wire attachment screws will strip the copper or brass plate threads with very little torque. I would recommend stranded supply wire to overcome both of these design flaws. With stranded wire you could use a solderless crimp connector rather than the screw terminals. Until I can change the feeder wiring, I had to use backer nuts on the screw terminals to securely attach the feeder wires.

Cons: Short life
Thanks to Inyo for trying to handle this with manufacturer since their warranty is 1 year, but they denied it due to corrosion on the face of the motor and blamed it on a faulty shaft seal. Regardless, I cannot recommend this pump. It only lasted 2 years. Another problem was in removing the impeller - there is no good way to hold the shaft. Not a good design in my opinion.

I just installed this new pump motor to replace my 15yr old motor that finally took its last breath. I will keep u posted about the new pumps durability, but it definitely runs much quieter than the other one ever did. It is supposed to use 1/3 less electricity so time will tell. It was very simple to install.

I am very happy with the pump motor. Just looking at it I can see a huge quality difference over what I replaced and the price was so much better than what I've been paying at my local pool supply. It's also very quiet. The seal kit I bought with it was very easy to install also.

(3 out of 5 stars) Good Motor
Reviewed By: Nathan H. from Wichita, KS ()
Fit perfectly in my pump housing, so pleased with the assembly. Motor was a little longer than the one I had before, so didn't have much room to replace the back cover. Is a little louder than my last one - can hear from my back door. Motor was also a little smaller diameter, so am a little worried about it long term warping the mounting bolts. Hopefully won't be a problem.

Pros: Price, Fast Shipping, Voltage Switch, Energy Saver Model
I am the king of shopping around for the best price and I found it right here at inyopools.com who also offered the easiest to understand website with the most helpful information. The motor is quiet and powerful, I'd even say more powerful than my old motor based on the feeling of the water coming out of the jets even though it had a slightly lower total HP rating. The motor had a simple switch to go from 120V - 240V so it is easy to wire. This motor has the capacitor on the outside of the motor on the side of the casing which is not shown in the picture. And keep in mind that the motor might be a different length than your old motor. In my case it was a little longer, which made installation a bit harder because my filter system is right next to a wall. FYI - many utility companies offer off-peak electric which is 1/3rd the price of normal electric in my case. I was able to hook this new motor up to off peak electric so combined with the fact that this motor is lower amperage I will really save some $$$!!!

Motor is fine - runs at 7.5 amps vs 8.3 amps saving about 10% in energy - not the 33% advertized. NOTE if you are replacing this on a Jacuzzi pump there is a pump seal housing DESIGN FLAW which develops cracks, leaks and ruins the front motor bearing. If your install leaks this is why.

Pros: Great prices, fast shipping, online video help
Cons: None at all
This is the second time I have replaced the motor on my pump and it gets easier each time. This time, however, I upgraded to the more energy efficient motor, because my pump runs a lot in season. I expect the energy savings will pay off the higher price in just one year. Installation is simple and straightforward, and the online video helps if you haven't done this before. Just get the kit with the seals when you buy the motor. Inyo did a great job in shipping the motor, and it was received quickly and was exactly what I ordered. The price was good, the shipping reasonable, so there is nothing at all to complain about. I would definitely recommend this site if you are looking for a motor for your pool pump.
