Hi, I have an old Polaris blower that is 1 HP, 240 Volts, 3.8 Amps, 1 Phase (see attached photo). Would this new Silencer 1.5 HP, 240V 4.5 Amp unit be a good replacement and hook right up without any electrical modifications?
Thanks,
Troy
Hi, Troy. Increasing the blower size can cause issues with your air and water mixture. I'd recommend that you use the Silencer Spa Blower 1 HP 240 V 2.5 Amp Hardwire - A16310201.

Also, it appears I’ll need to purchase a switch for the unit. Can you recommend something?

Troy, There is not a switch available that is used specifically for this blower. We will need more info on how you want to operate this.

Less than 1 hr
Screwdriver
Turn off breaker. Remove electrical plate cover on blower. Disconnect the wires and conduit.
Lift old blower off the PVC pipe. Put new blower on PVC pipe reattach the conduit and wires, and cover plate.
Turn on breaker.
1 to 2 hrs
Screw gun with nut driver.
I disconnected the power to my pool equipment and removed the wires from the supply line on the old blower. I removed the unit from the pool plumbing by lifting the unit straight up off the pvc pipe. I decided to attach the unit to the wall of the house about 3 feet away from where it use to be. I installed bolts thru the holes provided in the housing plate and then with unions and elbows ran pvc pipe and attached it to the new blower. I wired the unit to the supply lines, turned on the power and then powered up the new blower. It performs much better then the old one. Thanks to Inyo pools for helping me choose the right unit and giving me a good price.

Very very nice and quite spa blower. Easy to install and you can hardly hear it running.
