I have a Hayward NorthStar that I am looking to replace. The only one's I see all have a threaded union connection. Do you still carry the one with the Quad lock?

Unfortunately Hayward discontinued the Quad Lock design on the NorthStar pump models in 2007. The housing on the newer pumps is a threaded design and re-plumbing would be necessary.

Hello Jerry - We would recommend the Hayward TriStar SP3215EE. Some plumbing will be required.

Looking to replace my 1.5hp Northstar pump with a variable speed pump. 25k gallon pool with in floor cleaning system. Any suggestions? Is the Northstar a high flow or high head pump?

Hi, Justin. You can use the Hayward TriStar VS Pump - SP3200VSP as an option. The Northstar Pump is a High Flow pump.

my pool has a northstar pump 1.5 hp sp1610-z-1-mns i was trying to find a pump curve spec sheet to match with a new whisperflow 2 speed either a 1 hp or 1.5 hp not sure which one to get . thanks for your help

Hi Jerry, A comparable Whisperflo Pump would be a 2 HP Full Rate Whisperflo Pump you could also go with a variable speed pump like the 2.7 HP PureLine Prime Pump on the High Speed the PureLine Prime is comparable to your Northstar but you also have the ability to run the pump at much lower speeds to save a ton on your power bill. The PureLine Prime is Energy Star Certified which means a lot of local power companies are offering pretty sizeable rebates for switching to Variable Speed.

great pump and motor that was easy to replace. the motor lasted ten years before it started to act up and as a electrician that replaces outdoor motors all the time this unit lasts and is quiet and powerfull.

I use to have 1hp sta-rite motor,when i add vacuum line to clean pool & a heater 1hp was enable to the job,i start looking on inter net i fond IN yo pool and i send em email what i need for my pool,i got email back in short time from PATRICK PAROLINE and he was very big help whit size motor and the price was good i place order and in six days i got my motor i instead it its running good with vacuum heater & screamer same time no problem I happy.

Cons: Big: Make sure you have enough room to install
Was looking to upgrade my pump after 40 years(Had rebuilt the old Hayward a couple times and case was starting to have broken edges). Chose the Northstar series for its newer features. Wanted higher pressure, but learned that would probably blow my lines. Really like this pump.
