my Hayward 1.5 hp Super Pump C48L2N134B3 has the shaft cover welded to motor casing with screw holes 5.5" apart what replacement motor do I need
Reply
I have a Hayward 1.5 hp Super Pump C48L2N134B3 for a built in 10' by 25' pool with a deep end of 9 feet and I use a sand filter. I feel as though the motor is not holding up well and doing it's job in filtering pool particularly when I vacuum it hardly creates a vacuum. Should I move up in horse power? If so to what motor should I get that will fit my basket? It seems like I am replacing this motor every two years!

Hi Bill, Yes you could move up to a 2 HP and this would probably solve your issue, you would require this UST1202 2 HP Super Pump Replacement Motor if you decided to move up on the HP then you will also need to replace your impeller with this 2 HP Super Pump Impeller. When replacing your motor we also suggest getting a Hayward Super Pump Tune Up Kit this ensures your new motor is protected from any seal leakage from your old shaft seal. Finally here is a Video on How to Replace a Pool Pump Motor which you may find helpful when you tackle this job.
