We have a new pool and are going to fill it up with well water. What do you recommend using so that the iron in the well water will not stain the new surface?

We would recommend the Hayward Bobby. This product is attached to a garden hose and filters the water from the well. It will remove iron and other particles that may stain the pool surface. The SP022320 will treat 40,000 gallons. The SP022310 will treat 20,000 gallons.

I live in Sebastian Fl area, and my shallow well water stains anything it touches. I'm not sure if the clear water iron or not. When run thru a cloth it is shows up within a minute or so. I use this water only for a garden hose in the back yard, and is not used in the home at all. The rust stains the plants and leaves, and in some cases will kill the plant.
Is there a type of filter that I can use to remove the iron/ rust ?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hi, Neil. Yes, this Disposable Fill Hose Filter will remove impurities including iron from your source water before it is oxidized by the chlorine added to your pool.

We are just looking to occasionally top off our 30k gallon pool (plus we need to add about 1 foot of water now after opening it). Would I go with the smaller filter, then?

Hi, Yes the smaller filter would be sufficient in your scenario.

I cant find the smaller filer on your site. I have a small above ground pool 5k gallons it says on the box. But have well water. Is there a different filter I can use, or can I reuse this one for refills and maintenance?
