What is the weight of the unit? What kind of base does INYO or Pentair recommend to put the unit on?
Reply
Hi, the weight of the Pentair Heat Pump UltraTemp 108,000 BTU is approximately 300lbs. Per Pentair's owners manual, the heat pump would need to be installed on a level surface. You can use an equipment pad or other materials, like pavers or blocks, as long as the base is stable and will not deteriorate over time.

(5 out of 5 stars) Great pool heat pump

Pros: Set it at 90F and forget it, quieter
Cons: None
Pentair Heat Pump UltraTemp 108,000 BTU was a great price at inyopools, arrived quickly from Fl to NY, delivered undamaged. Had local pool company install at great price. This was a replacement to my old EnergyUtilization brand Heat pump which had a cracked plastic heat exchanger after 10 years. Pentair is Titanium so should last even longer. Turned on and cranked out heat great. I keep 20,000 gal in ground pool at 90F for only ~$100/month and that is with high NY electric rates and I live in cool upstate NY mountains.

This heater dose the job at a substantial savings over regular heaters. The only draw back is it is slower to heat than gas especially at low temperatures.
