Part # 022005
The IntelliFloXF™ variable speed pump packs more money-saving innovations into a single pump than any other. Compared to traditional single-speed pumps, it can reduce your customers' annual utility bills by up to $1,600*. The difference is a breakthrough by Pentair; we pioneered XF pump hydraulics, optimizing interior passageways and impeller operation to decrease turbulent flow and increase energy efficiency. The IntelliFloXF pump comes packed with many more features to make it easier to use and last longer, including a super-quiet totally enclosed fan cooled (TEFC) motor, long-lasting EPDM seals, and our exclusive Cam and Ramp™ see-through lid that makes inspection and cleaning a breeze. It took computerized Computational Fluid Dynamics and Finite Element Analysis to achieve it, and it gives you another great offering to attract customers who want the very best in energy-efficient technology.
These operating hydraulic improvements are paired with Pentair's IntelliFlo® variable speed technology, a proven design that has led the revolution in pool pump efficiency. Together, these innovations create the most advanced, smoothest-running, and most energy-efficient pump we've ever made. It's part of our Eco Select® line of products, one of our "greenest" and most efficient equipment choices.
Features
I am in the process of retrofitting my entire pool system. What is the benefit or reason for the XF compared to the VS that has 2" fittings? Is the difference strictly the fittings? My spa has 2.5" piping, would it be better to go with the XF instead of stepping down to the 2" on the VS. Also, does it matter that the heater and quad80 filter has 2" fittings? Functionally and programability in mind, are they the same? I plan on setting everything up with the easytouch system.

Hi Joshua, The XF pump is used in pool or spa application that demand high water flow that's why is has 2.5" or 3" unions. The performance is also better. This pump would be better since your spa has 2.5" piping. It does not matter that your heater and filter is 2", you would just have to keep that in mind when setting the speed.

looking to replace Pentair IntelliFlo VF Variable Speed Pump - 011012
I see this uses unions instead of threaded fittings. Are the inlet and outlet locations the same?
Reply
Yes, the inlet and outlet would be in the same position.

Will this pump run the pool, 5' sheer decedent, 2 laminar and 5 bubblers or do you still need a second pump. The pool has 3" returns.

Hi. This pump can operate the following water features based on the Total Dynamic Head (TDH).

I currently run a IntelliFlo XF(variable speed pump) and has a 3.0 HP motor (P/N: 350305). I am unable to find the exact 350305 motor for sale anywhere. What is the correct replacement motor for this pump and where can I buy it? Can P/N: 350105S be used as a replacement? The only difference I can find between the two is that the 350105S is a 6 pole and the 350305 is 10 pole.

The current motor number for ordering is the 350305S for the Pentair IntelliFloXF Variable Speed Pump (August 2015-Current) The original XF Pump model 022005 is a discontinued model, the drive on it is no longer available for ordering, the 022005 is the original model before 2015 if the motor goes out you will need to order the 350305S and the current IntelliFlo VS/i1/2VST Drive Kit w/ Keypad - 356879Z The current INTELLIFLOXF® VARIABLE SPEED PUMP - 022055 would be the better investment compared to the combined pricing for a new motor and drive.

(5 out of 5 stars) Big powerful pump

My pump volute froze over and cracked along with a valve and a section of plumbing. I decided to replace the entire single speed pump with a variable speed unit to save electricity and get a cleaner look to the pump system by eliminating the control box mounted to my fence. This pump is quite large and you will need space if upgrading from a smaller unit.
