Are the union connectors included for 2.5" or 3" plumbing?

I am in the process of retrofitting my entire pool system. What is the benefit or reason for the XF compared to the VS that has 2" fittings? Is the difference strictly the fittings? My spa has 2.5" piping, would it be better to go with the XF instead of stepping down to the 2" on the VS. Also, does it matter that the heater and quad80 filter has 2" fittings? Functionally and programability in mind, are they the same? I plan on setting everything up with the easytouch system.

Hi Joshua, The XF pump is used in pool or spa application that demand high water flow that's why is has 2.5" or 3" unions. The performance is also better. This pump would be better since your spa has 2.5" piping. It does not matter that your heater and filter is 2", you would just have to keep that in mind when setting the speed.

looking to replace Pentair IntelliFlo VF Variable Speed Pump - 011012 I see this uses unions instead of threaded fittings. Are the inlet and outlet locations the same?

Yes, the inlet and outlet would be in the same position.

Will this pump run the pool, 5' sheer decedent, 2 laminar and 5 bubblers or do you still need a second pump. The pool has 3" returns.

I currently run a IntelliFlo XF(variable speed pump) and has a 3.0 HP motor (P/N: 350305). I am unable to find the exact 350305 motor for sale anywhere. What is the correct replacement motor for this pump and where can I buy it? Can P/N: 350105S be used as a replacement? The only difference I can find between the two is that the 350105S is a 6 pole and the 350305 is 10 pole.

The current motor number for ordering is the 350305S for the Pentair IntelliFloXF Variable Speed Pump (August 2015-Current) The original XF Pump model 022005 is a discontinued model, the drive on it is no longer available for ordering, the 022005 is the original model before 2015 if the motor goes out you will need to order the 350305S and the current IntelliFlo VS/i1/2VST Drive Kit w/ Keypad - 356879Z The current INTELLIFLOXF® VARIABLE SPEED PUMP - 022055 would be the better investment compared to the combined pricing for a new motor and drive.

Looking to replace a Pentair Whisperflo High Performance Pump with this IntellifloXF variable speed. The current one is 1.0 HP and 3450 RPM. Hoping this larger motor can just be used at a lower RPM and still turn-over the water nicely and quietly. My question is, will the plumbing be the same? Easy swap? I have 2" pvc coming in to the current pump. Thanks

Hi Christopher, so the plumbing arrangement between these two pumps is very similar but not exact so some plumbing will need to be done. The suction port locations are near exact between them but the discharge port location has a difference of about 2 inches.
