Can the chiller option be added to this heat pump after installation?
Thanks, R Corley

Unfortunately, there is no way to " Add-on " the chiller aspect to this heat pump. They are either heat pumps OR heat / cool pumps.

Hi, does this model have a reversing valve for power defrost? Thanks
Reply
Hello, Will. The Raypack R8350TI-E does not have a reversing valve for power defrost. If offers Power Frost that Allows the heat pump to operate in colder weather by keeping the heat exchanger tubes from developing frost. When the air temp drops below about 45F, the unit will shut down because there isn't enough heat in the air to allow for productive operation. Raypak does offer model PS9350ti with Rapid Defrost. Areas that are subject to lower ambient temperatures have a tendency to cause ice to build up on a heat pump's condensing coil. The Professional heat pump uses a patented refrigerant management system to rapidly defrost the heater. (The PS9350ti) currently is a Special Order item.

What is the difference between Raypack M8350ti-E-HC and M8350ti-E .
Reply
Val, The difference between the R8350TI-E-HC Raypak Standard 133K BTU Digital Heat Pump W/ Chiller and the R8350TI-E Raypak Standard 133K BTU Digital Heat Pump is that the R8350TI-E-HC has a chiller so it can cool the pool in the warmer months whereas the R8350TI is just a heater.

Under the "Warrenty Exclusions" section what does the statement
"This limited Warrenty does NOT apply"
Is there a Warrenty if so what is it?
Reply
Bob- Where it says "Warranty Exclusions" and then goes on to say "This Limited Warranty Does NOT Apply" it then goes on and lists reasons that would void the warranty or are not covered under warranty. The warranty on this heat pump, per Raypak, is as follow: If the Heater is installed in a single-family residential dwelling, the Applicable Warranty Periods are: two (2) years for labor and seven (7) years for parts, with no labor coverage in the third through seventh years. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the titanium tube component of the titanium heat exchanger is warranted for 10 years from the Effective Date, with no labor coverage in the third through tenth years. If the Heater is installed anywhere other than a single-family residential dwelling, the Applicable Warranty Period for the Heater and its parts is limited to only one (1) year, parts and labor.

Hi,
I am considering between the RS8350ti-E-QT Vs RS8350ti-E. Can you tell me the DB rating on both units. I read some place that e-qT is 59DB and need to confirm both and any other difference between the 2 besides 125K VS 133K output.
Thanks
Reply
Hi, The RS8350ti-E-QT operates at a dB of 59, the dB rating is not listed for the RS8350ti-E but it will be higher than 59.

This was placed on a pallet in the driveway. It is extremely hard to move, definitely not a one person job. We ended up using a hot tub sled to slide it through the grass to get it to the backyard. Most dealers will let you rent theirs for cheap, or even come help you do it. Be aware they do just ship it to the driveway, so have plans on how to move it to the final location before delivery.

The 1400,000 btu heat pump was delivered on time and the delivery guys put the heater in my garage. it’s fastened to a pallet and needs to go in the back yard about 70 feet away so I took the wheels the pressure washer and bolted them onto one end of the pallet one on each side. Now I need handles .the other end of the pallet I slid in 3 2x3x8 screwed one on each side and 1 in the middle . With the help of my neighbor we wheeled in to place. I thought this might help someone save a few bucks . The heater is working great. Thanks Inyo pools

Hello All,
It is fairly easy for the mechanically savvy. Turn off the power! ***If you are not comfortable working with electricity, Then STOP now! You should have an electrician or pool repair company do this project!
I wired the Heat pump system into and existing 220v connection I had for a Hot Tub. Make sure to use the correct gauge wiring or you'll have a bigger problem. This unit uses around 10,000 watts of electricity according to my energy monitoring system. It is a power HOG! Easily will use $10 a day in power. Runs for 8 hours when my pump is on.
Make sure to purchase the Heat Pump pad for the unit to sit on.
Most of this project truly is PVC plumbing. Pipes have to be cut and retrofit with existing plumbing.
There is no one story that will tell you how to do that, you just have to dive in. Make sure you use appropriate cleaner and glue. Measure twice and cut once. I used a miter box saw to make my cuts so it was a lot faster and had square ends on the pipe. Let the glue dry for a hour or so before turning the system back on!

The user/installation manual was easy to follow. If you are comfortable gluing up PVC pipe and can correctly wire up a 220vac supply to the unit, you will not have any problems. My programming of the unit was very simple, since I was not trying to control any pumps or auxiliary equipment from the unit. However the manual gives detailed instructions on how to add these items.
We live in Tennessee so I'm hoping we will be able to use our pool through late September early October.
Inyopools.com was great to work with. After the order was placed they discovered they were out of stock on a flow meter I had ordered for this install. They called me and told me the issue, then recommended a replacement that was a little cheaper price, which was great. Everything arrived on time without any problems. I will definitely order from them again.

I was expecting a better performance from a heat pump in AZ but this unit cycles into defrost every few minutes and has run for a week and has not been able to get the pool to a decent temp . A call to Raypaks tech line was just a waste of time and he contradicted the facts stated in the manual , basically said I should shut it off until may , it can't work at ambient temps below 50 and water below 70 ,, hope it at least extends our summer swimming

Indiana, above ground 30' x 4.5', full sun, solar cover. Bought March 2019. Quiet unit for its size and does a very nice job of keeping the water to a desired temperature of 85°. When it begins to heat the water another unit that monitors temperature says it is kicking out 91°water and it feels like it. Use a solar cover when not swimming and unit will not kick on much unless the temperature drops in the 70s. Had it professionally installed to get the full warranty. I placed mine on a timmer so it does not pump and heat all night long to save on electricity bill.

(4 out of 5 stars) Heat Pump really works
Reviewed By: Therese D. from McLean, VA ()
Pros: Water is warmer with the heat pump
Cons: Do not know at this moment
We hired swimming pool technicians to install the heat pump late April in DC area and it heated up our pool from 62 F to low 70 in 3/4 days in May. There was lots of fun for kids to swim in warmer water during the month May. The heat pumps heated up our spa to 100 F. We really enjoyed sitting in the hot tub every night. It increased our electricity bill by about $250 to $300 in the month May. It worked as described. I do not give it a 5-star at this moment because I do not know how reliable it will be in the coming years.
