How often does a Predator clean and clear 150 cartridge last before it has to be replaced??

Hello John - There is not a set time period for a cartridge to last. Our guide titled "How To Determine When a Filter Cartridge Needs to be Replaced" is very helpful.

Are the 150 predator and 200 predator interchangeable? Can I use a 200 in place of the 150. Big price difference.
 Reply

A  Answered on 3/19/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Yes you can use the 150 ft.² replacement cartridge in place of the 200 ft.² replacement cartridge. The dimensions are all the same size the only difference is the number of plates within the cartridge.

The outside dimension is shown as 18 inches. The description shows 10 inches. Which is correct?

A  Answered on 5/22/2018 by InyoPools Product Specialist Hector F.

The outside diameter of this element should be approximately 10 inches for the clean and clear 150 sq. ft. cartridge.

The only real trick is to pay attention to the marks on the filter. So you make sure that the side that says top is on top. I just put new filter in and hose off the old filter and keep rotating them!

Filter did not fit

Written on 4/28/2020 by Guest

I had to take out center filter holder in sections because the filter would not go over the end of the holder. I put the holder back together and put in the Pentair 150 filter. It fit perfectly and I was able to remove it for cleaning a month later. Always buy the best correct filter.

Needed to change filter

Written on 11/21/2019 by Guest

This was our first time. It went ok. Like a tip on how to get the middle section of the filter in easier, that was the hardest part. The fit was very tight. We are cleaning our own pool now and it looks better than ever.

Cartridge Did Not Slide All The Way Down

Written on 4/25/2019 by KEITH R.

The cartridge stopped halfway down. Forcing didn't help so I removed it. It also got stuck as I lifted it out. I gave it a final "jerk" upwards which removed the upper housing. I slide the cartridge on the lower housing then slid the upper housing on the lower til I heard the click. The specs appear to be the same but I could not see where the cartridge was getting stuck.

I needed to replace my filter

Written on 9/16/2018 by Guest

I have never owned a pool before I have never cared for a pool before so I had no clue what I was doing in chanting out this filter cartridge. But it was very simple to just slide the cartridge off and then slide the new one right back on and it was up and working phenomenally with in minutes

Water in my pool would not clear up even after repeated shock treatment.

Written on 6/14/2017 by Guest

1. Vacuumed pool and and skimmed out bugs and other floating debris.
2. Cleaned filter and repeated shock treatment and added stabilizer.
3. Changed and cleaned filters repeated with no success in clearing water and obtaining appropriate
chlorine levels.
4. Decided to buy two new filters. After 24 hours of continuous filtering, pool water was crystal clear, and
chlorine level was stable.
5. This process may seem evident, but my filters were adequate the season prior. The new filters made a world
of difference.
