Well, we received the new LED bulb, drained the spa, disassembled the spa light and... the incandescent bulb was the old style with the mini base! The base was cemented in with resin, so we'd have to replace the entire 50' assembly.
I'll skip the part about convincing Inyo of the problem and receiving the wrong replacement... they're smarter now, just like me... and we received a Pentel assembly with the proper base.
Now we had to isolate the proper cable end, disconnect it after pulling the proper circuit breaker, cut the end off the old cable and wire it to the new one and seal it with electrical tape. I also coated the new cable with WD-40 to make it slip easier inside the 50' of conduit.
With one of us pulling the old cable and the other feeding the new one, we fed the new one in, reinstalled the bezel in the spa, refilled the spa, turned on the light, and WOW... it worked... beautifully! This is really a two-man job pulling the cable through the conduit.
