Don, The dimensions for Pentair OEM Basket w/ handle is: Top: 8 1/4" Height : 5 1/4" Bottom: 5 3/4"

I took the measurements and they are 8-1/8 top diameter, 6 bottom diameter and 5-1/2 diameter. Why they are different from what you provided. i am not sure whether it will fit.

Skimmer basket is an exact replacement, however the handle is thicker metal and I had to drill out the holes in the basket in order to attach handle to the basket. Once I did that, it worked fine.
