Hello Lisa, The Aqualuminator Hard Plumbing Adaptor (79202900) part # 3526-11 is an adaptor to connect the Aqualuminator to PVC plumbing as opposed to the standard hoses that are commonly used on above ground pool. You would only need this if your pump and filter were installed using PVC instead of hoses.

When using the adapter does regular pvc glue work to glue the adapter the the aqualuminator?

so before I buy it, the angled section get glued onto the main housing and then the larger part or straight part of this item gets put into a 2 inch piece of pipe?
