Hi John, These two part #'s are used on different models of filters the 59023700 works with the American Products Titan RPM DE filter & the Pentair FNS Plus DE Filter. The 59000400 works with the American Products Titan Stainless Steel & the American Products Titan CM DE Filter.

Will this fit an american titan vertical grid filter; Model # 584090; 48 sq. ft. ; 22 inches in length, 52 inches in width and 22 inches in height?

If the generic replaces 59000400 and 59023700, won't the pentair 59023700 also work with the American Products Titan Stainless Steel? If not, why not?

Hi, The Generic Manifold by CMP is designed to replace both manifolds. However, the OEM manifold are designed to be used with the specific filter. The manifold strainer assy and overall dimensions play a part in why they're not interchangeable.
