would like to know if the o ring on a top load filter would cause water to flow out of the unit and collect around the lock ring.and filter top, I have a leak and it appears to be coming from the water coming from the top load filter that is coming out and collecting on top of the filter top.

Hi, Wina. A bad Lid O-ring can cause water to leak out of the top. I would recommend also inspecting the lock ring, lid, and body for any cracks.
