is there a code for this drain that requires the pool death be 8ft or deeper to install or can it be install in a pool that is 5ft deep main reason is that the small spike looking things that come out of the sides can cut by swimmers walking in a 5ft pool please let me

Hi, Nathan. These drains do not have any depth requirements. You can review the DS360 Install Sheet.

(5 out of 5 stars) Drain cover w/ no pain
Reviewed By: Larry K. from Houston tx. ()
Pros: Universal fit, multiple screws of dif. length, ease of install.
Cons: None
My old drain cover was not up to code. I did not want to drain my pool or hire a pro, so I, being a scuba diver hooked my scuba reg. to air compressor and ripped (literally)old cover out and within 15 min. topside had screw choice, placement of screws ready. Back down in 5 min. it was in!! Polaris rolls over the cover w/no problem. Water flow was not restricted nor does debris collect or block. Worst part of job was no weight belt to keep me down. I used large brick w/bungee cords. IT WORKED. Next I will do spa drains (2). I can drain it w/no problem.
