Pentair Filter Valve Adapter Kit - 2" X 2 1/2" Black (270100)
Will 2” pvc slide over this or will it need a coupling. I’m stuck between this Union and part #270004. I’m running 2” pvc

Eric, 2" pvc would fit onto the 270100 tailpiece. The 270004 would fit inside of 2" pvc.

I purchased these Pentair #270100 fittings but it appears I chose the wrong ones since they don’t fit the same. Should I have chosen the Pentair #270004 instead? The OD of my Schedule 40 2” PVC pipe is 2 3/8” and this slides inside the fitting instead of outside like my original setup. See my two photos and tell me if the Pentair #270004 is the set I should have ordered. I assumed the 1-1/2” was the wrong size since my pool pipes are all 2”. This is a Pentair clean and clear plus 420 model.
Hi Bret, you do need the 270004 Bulkhead Union, 1 1/2" X 2" for your setup. 1-1/2" pipe would fit inside these fittings and your 2" pipe will fit on the outside, just like it is currently.
