Can you use this product to stop a leak in a vinyl liner pool?
Reply
This product will stop a pin hole leak in a vinyl liner pool if the leak is at the floor of the pool. The chemical is heavier than water so it will sink to the bottom.

How do I use Fix a Leak?
Reply
Depending on the type of leak you are looking to repair, there are certain steps you must take before and after using the product. If you are using Fix-A-Leak to seal a pinhole leak in a pool liner you will want to set your filter vale to recirculate. If you don't have a filter valve on your filter then you can remove the filter element from the filter. Once this has been done you can slowly pour the product through the skimmer. The product has very simple instructions on the container. If you want to see Fix-A-Leak in action, feel free to check out this > >video.

I followed the back of the bottle and this stuff worked. I did not have to tear out my cement which I was forever grateful for and was amazed by the product. Strongly recommend this product before spending big bucks.

My husband has been trying to find the source of a leak in my hot tub for over a year. He removed all of the insulation and reinstalled every jet, sealing each with silicone and the tub still leaked.
I found Fix A Leak on the internet by doing a search. I ordered it right away and when the bottle was delivered my husband followed the directions on the Fix A Leak bottle and the leak was finally stopped. After running the solution through the system for two days he reinstalled the filter and he kept taking the filter out and rinsing it just clearing out any excess Fix A Leak.
Now my hot tub is fixed and I am a happy camper!

This product is about as straight forward as they get. Put it in the line that has a problem. I actually poured this into a funnel at the fountain head and let gravity do its thing. Let it sit overnight and voila leak gone!

Discovered I had a leak in a return pipe under-ground, REALLY did not want to dig it up and repair. I read about Fix-A-Leak on INYOPOOLS website and decided to give it a try. I ordered 1 quart of Marlig Fix a Leak, arrived two days later, followed the directions on the website (instructions on product were unclear), it's been two weeks and no more leaks! Works perfectly!!!!

(5 out of 5 stars) Some snake oils work
Reviewed By: willib from St. Paul, MN ()
Pros: much cheaper than alternative
Cons: skeptical it will last
Yes, this seemed like snake oil to me too. I was facing a $1000 repair under concrete, or a gamble with two quarts of this stuff. My spa also had a little leak around the skimmer basket too, so I added a little to the spa and the rest of two quarts to my pool and followed the instructions. Much to my amazement it appears to have worked! I was losing 1.5 inches with pumps on in 24 hours, 24 hours after adding this, I was losing none. I'm now letting it "sit" to cure but time will tell how long this stuff will hold up. So far I have no regrets. The spa also stopped leaking too!

(5 out of 5 stars) Miracle on Leak Street
Reviewed By: Moluvslife from Key West, FL ()
Pros: All leaks stopped
Cons: none
After two months of turning my foreclosure house "swamp" back into a swimming pool (inground fiberglass, 35' x 12'), I discovered that the pool was leaking profusely (6 - 12 inches/day). I did all of the normal leak fixes (epoxy'ed light niche and small cracks on the bottom) and slowed the leak - only to determine the remaining leaks were in the pipes. Then I found "Fix A Leak". Three days after ordering, I put 2 quarts into the skimmer and let my system run for two full days (with filter pulled). Within 24 hrs. all leaks were stopped, so I filled the pool to the top...24 hrs. more and still no leaks. As directed, I then turned off the pump for 48 hrs. to allow the solution to cure. Two weeks have passed and I literally have no more leaks. My only problem now is that I keep having to drain the pool after a heavy rain! For less than $80 I solved a problem that would have cost me thousands. This stuff truly is a miracle!!!

Reviewed By: Patricia R E. from Centrreville, MS ()
Pros: Easy
Cons: It apparently vacuumed up.
Fix A Leak did a fabulous job of stopping my vinyl pool from loosing water. Unfortunately, I have had to thoroughly vacuum my pool due to other issues. Apparently I vacuumed the product from the area(s) it belonged. Ordering more to re-fix my leak(s)!

(3 out of 5 stars) Still evaluating, but looks good
Reviewed By: Alan M. from Dallas, TX ()
Pros: Seems to work
Cons: unclear instructions
I have just completed applying the Marlig Fix A Leak, and it seems to have significantly slowed the leak. I will fully evaluate the product after this weekend when I can accurately determine its effectiveness. The instructions are missing some detail: How long do you continue to circulate the water after applying?, after repl;acing the filter (DE), when should it be back-washed> (my pressure went up 50% overnight); I have a hairline crack in the plaster not leaking, can I use this to cover that crack> I will probably order a seconf bottle next week.
