Can the Stainfree be used before I shock the pool?
Reply
No, shock should not be added to the pool for one week after the Stainfree is added to the swimming pool. If the chlorine needs to be raised you can use small amounts to increase it. The chlorine level should not exceed 2 ppm.

Can Stain Free be used on stains in a gunite salt pool?
Reply
Hi Scott, this is ideal for treating staining on all types of pool surfaces, including gunite/plaster in a salt pool. After using StainFree, you can use MetalFree at the rate of 4 ounces per 10,000 gallons of pool water weekly to deactivate stain-causing metals and prevent staining and water discoloration caused by iron, copper and other trace metals.

(5 out of 5 stars) It's got to be Witchcraft

Pros: Works great.
Cons: Cheaper sources out there for bulk purchase of ascorbic acid
Worked as advertsied. My stairs were orange as was my drain covers and anything else that was suppsoe to be white. My vinyl liner was brown instead of blue. It absolutely removed all stains on contact. I was nervous at first as it only seemed to clean to a depth of 3 or 4 feet. But I followed the directions and let it sit over night with the pump off and by morning my pool was spotless. The water returns and drain are white again and the vinyl is back to its original brightness. In the morning I threw my ladder in the shallow end and by the end of the day it looked new. Now having said all this, I recommend you research Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) online and then make your own decision on how best to spend your money.
