Lynn, In short, no. The pump is a standard efficiency pump. You will likely need a variable speed pump.

I have a 15,000 gallon pool. I currently have a Hayward pump which is 22 years old. Last April I replaced the motor with a UST1202. If I replace the pump with a pureline pump will the motor I have fit it. I just want to keep it as a spare. What size pump do you recommend.

Hi Glen, Yes the UST1202 would work as a spare replacement motor for the PL2603 PureLine Prime 2 HP Pump. There are several variables that will determine which size pump you would require like the size of your filter, do you have a spa or water features, how long of a run of pipe from pool to pump and pipe size. We put together a good Video on How to Size a Pool Pump which should help you determine the correct HP you require.

I am replacing a Hayward RS2000, any suggestions.
Thanks

Hi Dave, The PureLine Prime Pool Pump 2 HP would be a perfect replacement for the Hayward RS2000 pump. The plumbing ports are not in the exact same location as the RS2000 (they are off by a few inches), so you may have some minor re-plumbing.

conventional wood saw or hacksaw, pvc cement and primer, coarse samdpaper or file
The problem with replacing this unit is it has an unusual geometry. The filter assembly sits above the pump and the inlet to the filter and the outlet are both just above the pump.
The linked powerpoint shows you how I replumbed the system. The footprint is larger than it is with the M180. Parts needed are about 10 ft of 2-inch pipe (longest section is about 5 feet), 3 two inch 90 degree elbows (unthreaded), a 2inch to a 1.5 inch reducing union and a conventional wood saw or hacksaw.
I prefer the wood saw for cutting, it is easier to get a straight cut. You will also need some paver stones to elevate the filter assembly so the inlet port can be easily attached to the pump and you also need pavers or another slab to put the filter on because the m180 filter sits above the pump not adjacent to it.
Also I strongly suggest that if the pump is attached to a threaded pipe from the pool that you cut the thread off and glue the pipe to the slip (unthreaded) connection they provide with the pump. Link to a couple of photos is below.

Went online ordered new Pureline prime pool pump to replace my old on and was considerably less expensive. Received unit in 4 days, swapped over electric cord from old pump step by step directions and very simple hooked up water supply and plugged into power and pump works great and very quiet.

(4 out of 5 stars) Good pump for the $$$

Pros: Cheap
Cons: Not an exact fit, loud
This seems to be a fairly good pump so far (it has only been in for five days). The main issue I had was that it was not a perfect match for my existing system. The intake was perfect, but the return port was about 1/8 inch off. A little heating with a hot air gun solved the problem but what was a one-man job turned into a two-man job. Other than this one issue, I like it.
