Is this pump Energy Star certified?
Reply
Lynn, In short, no. The pump is a standard efficiency pump. You will likely need a variable speed pump.

Hi Bill, Here are the Dimensions for the PureLine Prime Pump the image is showing the 1 HP model so the 10" measurement for the pump will be 11.5"

I have a 15,000 gallon pool. I currently have a Hayward pump which is 22 years old. Last April I replaced the motor with a UST1202. If I replace the pump with a pureline pump will the motor I have fit it. I just want to keep it as a spare. What size pump do you recommend.
Reply
Hi Glen, Yes the UST1202 would work as a spare replacement motor for the PL2603 PureLine Prime 2 HP Pump. There are several variables that will determine which size pump you would require like the size of your filter, do you have a spa or water features, how long of a run of pipe from pool to pump and pipe size. We put together a good Video on How to Size a Pool Pump which should help you determine the correct HP you require.

I am replacing a Hayward RS2000, any suggestions.
Thanks

Hi Dave, The PureLine Prime Pool Pump 2 HP would be a perfect replacement for the Hayward RS2000 pump. The plumbing ports are not in the exact same location as the RS2000 (they are off by a few inches), so you may have some minor re-plumbing.

I have a Hayward 3015x20....2 HP pump. Will your Part # PL2603 2 HP pump be a direct drop in to replace it? Will it perform the same as my Hayward?
Reply
Hi Dale, You have the Hayward Super II and the PureLine Prime is not a drop-in replacement for the Super II, it is a Drop-in replacement for the Hayward Super Pump. The PureLine Prime 2 HP would be a good replacement for your Hayward Super II 3015x20 but you will have some minor re-plumbing as the plumbing ports are not in the exact same spot as the Super II (they are off by an inch or so).

Will this be a good replacement for my STA-RITE MAX-E-PRO?
Reply
Hi, Bill. The Prime but is not a good replacement for the Sta-Rite Max-E.-Pro pump because of the difference in performance. The Max-E-Pro 2 HP Full Rate Energy Efficient - P6E6G208L is still available.

Will this pump(PureLine Prime Pool Pump 2 HP - PL2603) be a good replacement for my Jandy Stealth Pump(JHPU 2.0)?

Hello Robert- Yes, this PureLine Prime Pool Pump 2 HP - PL2603 will be a good replacement for your JHPU2.0. Only real difference will be the plumbing.

I have an old American standard 2 hp pump. It used to go to a waterfall that we changed out to a 3' sheer descent. The pump is failing, do we need another 2 hp pump or could we size down and would this pump be a good fit as replacement?
Reply
Based on the information you provided I would suggest staying with the 2 HP pump and the PL2603 2 HP PureLine Prime would be the pump I would suggest. I think you would be very happy with this pump

can you recommend an adapter to transfer 2 inch ports to 1.5 inch?

Travis you would require two of this 2" x 1.5" Reducer Bushing.

Need to replace a Jandy Stealth SHPF 2.0. This is a 2.0 HP motor that draws 11 amps when running 220V.
The ports on the Jandy are 3 inch diameter. Can I use the Pureline Prime Pool Pump 2 HP as a replacement?
Reply
Hi Jay, your Jandy pump is a 2 HP full Rate where this PureLine is a 2 HP uprate. This means the PureLine would be comparable to a 1.5 HP Jandy full rate pump. If you seemed to have more than enough power with your current pump then you could downsize the HP to the PureLine PL2603 and spend less on your operational costs. I show the Jandy pump accepts 2" or 2.5" plumbing where the PureLine accepts 2" plumbing. I would check the size on your pipe and if it is 2" then the PureLine will be fine. If you do decide to stay with your Jandy pump then here is the Jandy 2 HP Full Rate Replacement Pump.

The C Fl 3 Phase Threaded 56j 2 Hp, Small Barrel (T3202) is the replacement for 3-Phase. It is available by special order only, allowing 3-4 weeks for delivery. Please do not forget to replace the Pump Seal or Gokit for the Hayward Super Pump any time you replace the motor or decompress the impeller.

I am looking to replace my Hayward SP2607X10, will this pump be Ok? I am also looking to change my sand filter to a cartridge filter at the same time. Will this pump and cartridge combo be better than my current set up?
Reply
Hi, Michael. A cartridge filter is more efficient than a sand filter when it comes to filtration and flow. Going from a 1 hp pump to a 2 hp is a major increase. You will have to make sure that your system is able to handle the water flow. I would recommend using our How to Size a Pool Pump and How To Size a Pool Filter guides to make sure that you properly size your pump and filter to meet your pool needs.

I'm replacing a Pentair Whisperflow 2HP on a 25K pool. Will the @HP be a replacement and more importantly, do the in/out ports line up the same on this?

Hi, Donnie C. Unfortunately, this pump will not directly replace a Pentair Whisperflo 2hp pump. The performance and port connections are different.

What is the weight in kgs of this pump, what is the wattage (power consumption).
Can I purchase this pump in the UK

Hi. The shipping weight of this pump in kg 22.68. The wattage is 2,116. This pump cannot be purchased in the UK, only in the USA.

Would this be a proper replacement for a Hayward sp4015?
Reply
Hi, Adrian. It will be based on your Total Dynamic Head calculation. The Prime Pump is a Medium Head pump and the NorthStar is a High Head Pump so performance level will not be the same.
Reply
Would this replace a Whisperflo WFE-4?
Reply
Yes, this PureLine Prime Pump would be a great replacement for a Whisperflo WFE-4 the plumbing ports are not in the exact position, so you may have some minor re-plumbing but nothing major.

Will this replace a Hayward RS series 2hp pump?
Reply
Hi, Gary. The RS Series Pump is a higher performing pump than this Prime pump. It will not be a suitable replacement. However, to determine if this pump will be sufficient for your pool, you will need to calculate the Total Dynamic Head (TDH) of your pool, then use the Prime Pump Curve to determine the flow rate.

I need to replace a Northstar SP4015x20. Hayward has discontinued this pump. What do you recommend. I would consider any brand.
What I would like to do is to avoid re-plumbing. The Northstar as 2 inch threaded fittings, rather than bayonet type. It claims to be a 2 HP pump, but I think the motor is more like 1.5 HP. It moves 100 GPM through our very large sand filter. Our pool is 65,000 gal.

I replaced a 2HP Jandy Stealth pump with a 3HP Pureline 2604, purchased from your company. I may have overdone it. Pressure is 30PSI and I have DE Media leaking into the pool. Can I reduce pressure with a smaller impeller? Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks

Hi, Skip. Yes, reducing the impeller size will reduce the water flow. I would also recommend that you calculate the Total Dynamic Head (TDH) of your pool using our How To Measure Total Dynamic Head With Gauges guide.

I have a Hayward RS 2000 (leslie) 2 hp pump. I am looking for a new pump that will fit the existing plumbing connections. Single speed 230 volt. 25,000 gallon in ground pool. DE filter. What would you recommend?

Hi. The Hayward Super II Pump - SP3020EEAZ will be an exact replacement for the Hayward RS2000. This Prime Pool Pump 2 HP will not be an exact replacement physically or hydraulically.

Im replacing the pump shown in pictures and they are 2 1/4 inch inside threads. will this pump be a good replacement? will it require plumbing mod?
Hi Greg, The port size on the PureLine Prime will be the same size as your pump 2-1/4" inch means that it will accommodate 2" pipe and fittings. This PureLine Prime 2 HP would be the pump we suggest for your application. You may have a little bit of re-plumbing because the inlet and outlet ports are not in the exact same location as your old pump, however the re-plumbing should be minimal and not that major of an undertaking.

Thank you. Before I order, I just want to make sure this pump will be good for my use which is it is my inground spa pump used for spa jets. Of which I have 6. The pool pump a variable speed Pentair also runs through the spa either recirculating for spa use or spillover for pool use. The pump I need is strictly a dedicated spa jet pump.
Reply
Hi Greg, Typically spa jets take about 12-15 GPM per jet so for 6 spa jets I would estimate you will need a GPM between 72-90 GPM. For normal plumbing setups, you will have 30'-40' of head and this pump will do 90-103 GPM at 30'-40' of head, I always like to size spa pumps a little larger to make sure you have enough power to adequately run the jets, so I think this pump would work out great for your application.
