Hi there
I have a Hayward pump model C48L2N134B1. I would like to replace that with this one. Will this be a direct fit to the motor plate? I have those square looking strainer basket. Thanks

I have a Hayward SP1610-Z-2M, HP 1.5/.25, A 8.0/2.5, RPM 3450/1725, frame X56J. I need the motor, Thanks

Hi Robert, The 1.5 HP 2 Spd 230v 56J Motor (STS1152R) would be the correct replacement motor which would be wired to your dual speed timer. The 1.5 HP Full Rate Two Speed Motor W/ Timer - Round Flange (B977T, B2977T) would also work but it has a built-in timer so you would not have to wire the motor to an external timer.

I have a Emerson EB 228 1.0 HP motor (Frame 56 J). I believe it has a round flange. It is end of life. Can I replace it with this motor?
Thanks!

Hello, I would recommend you replace your EB228 1HP motor with B975T 1 HP Full Rate Two Speed Motor W/ Timer. I would not recommend increasing the horsepower without identifying your PUMP style and determine if you need to change the impeller.

I just received my new motor B2977T. the impeller set screw from my old motor does not fit the new motor. Where can i find a proper fitting screw?

Hi Rob, The impeller screw is no longer needed so you ca do without it.

I have a Hayward Swimpro Voyager 2-speed pump that I think is 2HP. The part number on the motor (SP1520Z24ESC) does not match any of the motors listed in the owner's manual. My pool is 26'x15' oval, 4.5' deep, approximately 10,500 gal. Do I really need a 2HP motor, or can I use a less powerful one? Can I just replace with another Hayward motor since the owner's manual shows all the same pump parts used with several different HP'd pumps?

Hi Lisa, If your motor is 230V then you will require the BN51 2 HP Dual Speed Motor here.

Hello, I have an A.O. Smith Model# K48N2N106C1 2hp. Is this motor a good replacement?
Thank you!

Yes, that would be a great replacement if you're looking for a dual speed motor. That will fit, but won't give you the same amount of horsepower as your current motor. The total horsepower on your current motor is 2.6 and that dual speed motor is 1.95. Unfortunately, we don't have the dual speed with a timer that matches your current total horsepower, but we do have a dual speed w/out the timer. The part number is 5389X.

I have been using & replacing the AOSmith STS1152R 2spd motor for years; the bearings go bad after about 6mths & I have the motor rebuilt locally and get another 18mtns out of it till the windings go. Any reason to believe the bearings/windings will last longer on the B977T? When it is time to replace the B977T can I buy just the motor and transfer the digital timer from the old one?
Reply
It might be a little tricky with the B977 having the capacitor on the top of the motor. Otherwise, to answer your question, if you have a generic digital timer that you bought separately from the STS1152R I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work with the B977 if you're able to find a way to mount it.

Will the B977T or B2977T serve as a direct replacement for the motor on my Hayward SP2600 VSP pump? I'm having a hard time finding the replacement part number for the SP2600 VSP motor.

Hello Gem- The B977T/B2977T is only a dual speed motor. The direct replacement for your SP2600VSP would be the 1.65 HP Variable Speed Pool Pump Motor Round Flange - ECM16CU.

Will this motor replace my Hayward single speed motor C48L2N134B3 1.5HP 115/230 Volts SF1.0 PH1?

Good morning Jichao, Yes this would be a good replacement. Same flange and frame size. Remember to replace the shaft seal and o-rings when you swap motors.

I am replacing a pool motor (of indeterminate mfg). Current specs show; Volts: 115/230, HP:1.5, AMPS: 17.2/8.6, SF: 1.00, INSUL CLASS: B, AMB: 50 Celcius, TIME RATING: CONT. Will this be a good replacement ?

I have an old AO Smith motor (Model B230SE) that is 2HP and Y56J Flange. I noticed this is a 1.95HP motor if you consider the service factor of 1.3 and the rated HP or 1.5. Is there any issue with using this motor in place of my current single speed motor?
Reply
There would not be an issue in using that dual speed motor due to the fact that the total hp is near exact to your original motor.

For an AO Smith motor (Model B230SE) that is 2HP and Y56J Flange, is there a kit that I need to get to mate this motor up to my existing pump basket/strainer housing?

I would need to know the model of the pump that that motor attaches to. If you do not know the model please attach a side view picture of your complete pump and I can help you with that.

I need to replace my Pentair # 168453 1.5hp HP 1.65 will this motor be compatable?

Hi, Kelly. The 1 HP Full Rate Dual Speed w/ Digital Controller - B2982T is the correct dual speed motor with controller that will replace p/n 168453.

Hi,
Looking for a two speed replacement motor for a Hayward Super Pump model C48L2N134B1 SP-1610-Z1-M 1 1/2 HP motor, would this work? . Also can the display for the timer be turned 180 degrees?
Thank you,
Greg

You could go with that two speed motor or spend $7 more and get a variable speed motor, ECM16CU, for your Super Pump which is going to be more energy efficient than the two speed. Make sure you get the GOKIT3 for your motor install as well.

Can I use this motor for my Hayward SP3010EE pump? The current motor we have on it is the ST1152 and we would like to upgrade to a dual speed that has the timer already installed.
Reply
Hi, Mell. Yes, this B2977T motor along with the Super II Pump Tune Up Kit GOKIT2 or GOKIT2SALT can be used to convert your single speed pump into a dual speed pump.

I have a heyward super pump 1 hp motor and want to upgrade to a 11/2 hp motor. What parts would I need to change, and what would be the advantage of a 2 speed motor.
Reply
Hi, Rick. You will need to change the Impeller - SPX2610C, and get the Tune Up Kit GOKIT3 or GOKT3SALT. The advantage of a dual speed pump is to allow you to circulate your pool water on a low speed to save on energy consumption.

B977T motor...
Century does not show this motor as being produced. Do you take the electronic package and mount it to the standard 2sp motor? If so, what's the warranty status since it's not available from manufacturer?
Reply
You cannot remove and mount the controls on another motor. This model is still active and on our site and the warranty is 12 months from install/purchase as long as the motor has not been submerged or has shaft seal failure.

Hi again,
You just kinda answered a question for me regarding the B977T motor. How is it possible for this motor to have this configuration when it doesn't show on Century's website and is not available through any other source. I'm a pool service tech and would like to purchase but am skeptical. The only 2Green motors available from Century are square flange according to their website and my distribution sources here in Tucson.

Hi Tim, I'm not sure why Century does not have this motor on their website as we have been selling it for years. We currently have 10 of this motor in stock so if you needed to order a few we should not have a hard time fufilling your order.

I have see a lot of discussion about right-sizing your pump relative to pool size and head measurement, but I haven't found anything relative to head when it comes to the low speed setting on a pump.
The implication would be that a pump might not being able to circulate in low speed if the head height was too much for the pump.
All of the performance charts I have seen imply this.
My questions is, does the two speed pump rating account for the ability to circulate at low speed?
Reply
I recently bought this motor, my pump is about 12 to 18 inches above the normal waterline. I have no issue with low speed circulation. If I start in low speed after
Opening the pump and loosing the prime I need to reprime, I typically do not need to do this on high speed.

I am running my Saltsyslem and Hayward Super Pump {C48L2N134B1; HP 1.5, SF 1.0; 115/230 (CURRENTLY CONFIGURED TO 230) SP-1810-Z1-M} on a T104R timer box in Tennessee. Usually keep the pool open April to late September. It is time to replace the motor. Will this pump essentially be a "plug and play" or will I need to take out my current timer box and/or by some kind of adapter kit? I also plan on getting the GOKIT3SALT tune up kit. Thanks

Hi, Brad. This B977T motor will mount to the Hayward Super Pump housing. You will have to remove the trippers from the T104 timer mechanism in order to power this motor. The chlorine generator will begin producing chlorine once water flow is detected.

I have a Leslie’s hydromax II pump 1.5horse will this motor hook directly to pump. Do I need motor flange also?
Hi John, technically yes this motor will mount up to your Hayward Hydromax II pool pump however for us to truly confirm if it is the correct motor replacement we will need the motor model, part, or catalog number.
