Is this pump an adequate replacement for an SP4015NS?
Reply
Jerry, The SP4015NS was a full rated pump. The BC2748 will not have the same strength as it. I would recommend the Hayward Tristar 1.5HP EE Full Rated pump.

Yes, its me again. Is this unit a suitable replacement for an anthony 1 1/2 hp pump and motor? Pump is about 21 years old. Pool is 15 x 30 with a built in hot tub, goes from 3 to 6 feet deep.

The Anthony pumps are some of the more durable pumps that have been designed so I would say that the bc2748 is a fair replacement pump. Always confirm by having the model of the filter to make sure replacement pumps are compatible with the filter as well.

I need to replace my pump for a 13500 gallon in ground pool. Any issues with replacing it with this pump set up?

Hi you would have to calculate the feet of head of your pool using our How to Size a Pool Pump for Your In-Ground Pool guide. Then compare the feet of head calculated for your pool and see where on the performance chart you will be. If the Feet of Head and GPM is okay then this pump will work.

I need to replace MODEL #BC2748. You state the product is no longer available. What do I do??

Hi Armand, We are just currently out of stock on this pump and are expecting our shipment in March or April. I personally like the 1.5 H.P PureLine Prime Pump this pump is a bit more expensive but I feel the motor is of better quality. Also note that since the plumbing ports are not in the exact same location as your BC2748 you may have some minor re-plumbing.

I have a Centurian pool pump will this pump be a suitable replacement? Need to order quickly.

Hi Wendy, Centurian make motors for pool pump not pumps. If you can provide the manufacture and model of the pump you have I can let you know if this pump will be a suitable replacement.

Is this item expected to be available soon? Or is it out of market if so what is the closest model that I can use? Thanks

What do you have as a replacement for this pump. Mine is an Excel 72748, but looks like the same thing. Can I just replace the motor if you have one in stock?

Hi Don, We would suggest the PL1601 Pool Pump as a replacement. You may have a little bit of re-plumbing as the ports are a little different. We do not have the replacement motor for the Excel 72748.

My 72748 pump is making a loud noise.
I think I need to replace the seals and maybe the bearings.
Is there a tool to secure the back of the pump shaft to remove the impeller?
Good afternoon Alex, To stabilize the back of that shaft it looks like you would use a large flat head screwdriver. and unscrew the impeller from the other end.
