These waterfalls are traditionally installed on wall features of an in-ground pools. I would highly recommend reading the LED Lighted Waterfall Installation manual before purchasing to ensure you fully understand the requirements of this waterfall.

Can the unit be hooked up without the remote control unit how will the lights work?

Jordan, In order to use the LED functionality, you will need to order the waterfall kit. Otherwise, the waterfall will not be illuminated.

My client has a concern about algae build-up inside or at lip of waterfall? our location is in the caribbean.

If the LED lights eventually fail or stop working can new ones be installed without removing the unit from the water feature wall or does the entire unit need to be replaced?
If the entire unit needs to be replaced do you recommend a top on the water feature wall that can be removed easily for a "switchout"?

Hi, Terry Bibeau These waterfalls are designed so that they are field serviceable. The led strip can be replaced without removing it from the structure.

Tim, the 12" LED Pool Waterfall Color Changing w/ 6" lip - White has no suggested basin size requirement.
