I recently changed my pool motor and gaskets. I made sure to lubricate all the gaskets with vaseline. A few days later water is leaking from the pump. What did I do wrong? Help please!!

You never want to use vaseline on any rubber gaskets or o-rings. Vaseline is petroleum based and will deteriorate the rubber quickly. Whenever you change the motor on a pool pump it is recommended that you replace the gaskets and shaft seal as well. A >Go-kit contains the shaft seal, packet of non-petroleum based lubricant and gaskets you will need for your pump. If you already have the gaskets, you can purchase >Magic Lube.

My pump is not priming even after cleaning impeller. Will purchasing this kit aid in fixing that problem?

The seal kit can help with loss of prime. I can't guarantee that it will solve your problem. The loss of prime could be from an air leak at the valves or plumbing in front of the pump.

Hey there -
Would this be the correct kit for the Jandy Stealth 1.5. Pump Model # shpf1.5?
Thanks

This would be the correct Tune Up Kit as long as the model of your pump is the Jandy Stealth JHP or JHPU and was manufactured between 2002-2008. Since your Jandy Stealth is model SHPF, this tune up will not be compatible. There is currently not a Tune Up Kit for the model you have.

What would cause a pressure drop from 20 to 12 pounds and how do I fix it

Sounds look you either have an air leak somewhere or your pipes or filter is clogged up. So with the leak, obviously need to find the leak. With the pipes, make sure that the pipes are clear by blowing them out and with the filter, cleaning the sand, grids or cartridge depending on what kind of filter you have.

Just want to make sure this will fit my Century B230SE. Nothing wrong with the motor, just water leaking from under it at a rate of 2 inches of pool water level every 30 hours.

Hi, Could you send us a photo showing your complete pump including where the pipe goes in and out of the pump. You can simply reply to this email with that photo or send to upload@inyopools.com this will allow us to suggest the proper seal kit.

Hello,
I have a Jandy Stealth pump and I have to replace the motor, which is a AOSmith 1.5. HP. So you've already confirmed which motor is the correct replacement model. Now I need the seal kit, but I saw in the Q&A that go kits are not available for that pump. Now here is my question.. what do I need for seals, etc to complete this repair? I need to get this equipment ordered soon. Thanks so much.

Tamra, Do you know which model Jandy Stealth you have? There are 4 versions of the pump. Also, the shaft seal can vary depending on the serial number. At the very least, you will need the shaft seal and housing gasket.

I have a 1hp Jandy flopro pump, model FHPM1.0. Its leaking underneath, can you recommend the correct kit that has all the seals and gaskets for this pump?
Thanks

Hi, Tim. There is not a tune up kit available for the FHPM series pump, they will have to be purchased separately. They are all listed on Jandy Flo Pro Pump FHPM Parts Diagram.

Does this kit service R09FB 1428 Shipf 3.0?

Hi, Lorenzo. This Kit is not compatible with your model pump. There is not a kit available, the shaft seal and o-rings will have to be purchased separately. Check out the Jandy Stealth (2006-Current) SHPF & SHPM Parts Diagram page.

I got this kit for a 1.5 jandy jhp but it still leaks a very tiny amount at the shaft seal. Do you think there is another shaft seal that will stop that leak?
Reply
Hi, John. There is only one size shaft seal for the Jandy JHP series pump. If the pump still leaks and you did not touch the face of the seal, the Mounting Bracket could be warped. At that point, the Mounting Bracket Kit - R0556000 will have to be replaced.

We have figured out that I will need a B2979 pump to replace my Jandy JHP2.0 pump. Will this tune up kit be compatable. I have included photos of the pump and motor. And, will this be all I need to install the replacement motor. : BTW, this system of Q & A is absolutely a huge plus for pool owners. I already purchase two Capacitor from you, after some Q & A, and they worked like a charm on the other two pumps. My third pump happens to be screaming , so replacing it seems the best course.
I have a 2013 Jandy Pro Series Stealth that I just ordered a new motor for this from your store. Is this the correct tune up kit for that pump
Hi, Bill. The B2842 - 1.5 HP Square Flange 56Y Full Rate EE Motor is the correct replacement motor. As for the seal kit, there is not one available. The seals which are listed in the Jandy Stealth SHPF & SHPM Series Pump (2008-Current) Parts Diagram will have to be purchased separately.

I have a Jandy JHP2.0 pump probably 2002-8. SN G04F10789. Used as booster pump for spa, rarely used. It is leaking out of the backplate to the pump housing. Disassembled and O-rings are degrading. Is this the right tune up kit for this pump? And is there a gasket that goes on the backplate to the pump housing (not between motor and backplate)? See where I am pointing in picture.
Hi KR, Yes this is the correct tune-up kit for your pump. Please look at Key #10 on the JHP Parts Diagram this O-ring is included in the kit. This is the gasket that goes between the backplate and pump housing.

I have a 1hp Jandy flopro pump, model FHPM1.0 and need to replace my Century 1 hp Square Flange 56Y Up Rate Motor - B2853. I understand there is no tune up kit, but which specific gaskets/seals should I replace?

Hello Larry. The Century Motors model B2853 is the compatible replacement motor for the Jandy FloPro model FHPM 1.0. The Jandy Pump Shaft Seal Backplate O-ring - R0480300 and Diffuser O-ring - R0622000 should be replaced concurrent with the new motor. Attached please find the Jandy FloPro FHPM Series Pump (2008-Present) exploded parts diagram for reference.
