I have 1-1/2"piping on 16x32 ingound, can I use Tristar VS or should I go with Superpump VS? Would running pump 24 hrs on 1000RPM be adequate with salt generator system?
Reply
Hello Ruth - You can use the Tri-Star VS on 1.5" pvc plumbing. The ports would require a common reducer fitting. 1000 RPM may be adequate but we couldn't guarantee it. The minimum RPM is not known until the pump is installed. At that point you can test the RPM settings.

After priming, I pressed the V3 button and the V3 LED is lit. Display shows it's running at 3000 but also shows Timer 2 is running (V2 LED is not lit). How do I confirm which timer is running?
Reply
Since you overrode Timer 2 by pressing the V3 button, it will stay at that speed for the duration of timer 2. So it's in timer 2 but a V3 Speed.

How do I vacuum with the Hayward VS super pump 2602? I also got a new 3port diverter valve. When I try to vacuum I lose suction except when port is in a neutral position. In any other position, no water goes to the pump. I've had a pool for 30 years and have never had this problem.

With the Hayward VS Super Pump (SP2602VSP) on the max RPM's adjust the 3 Port valve to what source you're using for the vacuuming, whether it's your skimmer or dedicated vacuum line.

How do you turn the digital interface in the opposite direction?

Hi Steve, The digital interface on the Hayward Super Pump VS Variable Speed Pump is not rotateable, the Hayward EcoStar Variable Speed Pump has that option.

i need acontrol bord for a SP2600VSP

Ron- The only way that we are able to sell that control system for your Hayward Super Pump VS SP2600VSP would be to purchase the Power End Assembly SPX2600Z1VSPE.

Hi whats thought on using this on above ground 24' X 54" pool. Thanks Scott

Hi Scott, This pump can be used on your pool, however I would recommend reviewing the Hayward Super Pump Variable Speed Owners Manual for all installation requirements.

I am interested in moving the Interface off the main unit to a common location for ease of use. The question I have about this (as I have the 115V Super Pump VS) is what type of wire and size do I need, and the Cord grip ports are threaded for what size?
Reply
Hi Matt, the second page of this Pool Motor Installation Guide give information on wire size, I would use 1.5 HP as your guide. I'm not quite sure what cord grip ports are? If you are speaking of the plumbing ports for the pump then they are 1.5" female threads.

I have a sp2600vsp - after running for preset time (adjustable) on v2 or v3, it switches to v1 and stays there permanently. Run time of v1 is not adjustable. I want to automatically recycle back and forth between 2 speeds. Is that possible or do I have a controller problem?
Reply
HI Sinan, The speeds of can be adjusted or change. The pump speeds goes from V3 to V1 in sequence. Instructions can be found in the Hayward Super Pump Variable Speed Owners Manual.

Is there a rebate from PSEG/Long Island for installing this pump?

You will need to contact your power company directly to see what rebates are available and what model Variable Speed Pumps that the rebate includes.

Can this pump be attached to a COMPOOL controller? Is there anything special i need to purchase?
Reply
I would recommend contacting Pentair Pool Products at 1-800-831-7133 and speak to their technical department. They would be the best to advise on the compatibility of the variable speed pumps to their control system, and if you may need anything else to adapt the pump for functionality.

I bought a replacement motor about couple months ago to replace Hayward northstar, but it's still leaking water. Would this works as a a complete replacement?
Does this pump has a digital programmable interface?
Thanks

Hi Raed, The NorthStar pump is a high-performance pump unlike the Hayward Super Pump so it's not going to be a compatible replacement. If you can provide the model of your pump and the feet of head we can locate a suitable VS pump.

My SP2600VSP will not run on anything but V3 @3000. If I hold down the V1 it drops for a moment and reverts back to V3. Tried factory reset. No help. What is the fix?
Reply
Hi Bryan, If the factory reset did not work then the motor timer could be off. You will have to contact Hayward Tech Support at (908) 355-7995.

Does this pump accept external relay connectors for automation? Looks like the 2015 model may not but the 2016 model might?

Just got my VS Super Pump , I had a 2 speed pump that had 4 wires Blue. Red, Black and Green but the new pump only has a place for the Red, Black and Green. I understand the green is ground and the blue is hooked up to the timer. How do I hook up my VS with the extra Blue wire?
Reply
RW, Your old 2-speed motor required 4 wires (ground, high, low and common). The control drive for the SP2600VSP is already connected to the motor. To wire the new motor, you simply need your ground and 2 hot lines since this is a 230v pump.

How do you clear error code

Hi. You can clear the error code by correcting the issue. You can use the Hayward Super Pump Variable Speed Owners Manual to diagnose and correct the error codes.

How to access the timer menu on the Super Pump SP2603VS. The manual does not say. I cannot find a Hayward training video for this pump. The only training video shows the old user interface and does not relate to my new pump.

Hi, Kevin. The Hayward Super Pump SP2603VSP Manual has the steps on how to access the timer menu.

What is this pump's expected useful life? Mine is 4 yrs old and making unbearable noise. I'm told it needs to be replaced. After 4 years?
Reply
Generally, pool pumps can last between 5-10 years assuming the environment suits them but sometimes pump leaks, chemistry, equipment issues or even nature can cause motors to fail prematurely. Also, as a side note that you may just need to replace the capacitor so I would recommend having that inspected.

I have a 29K gal inground, 1.5" lines, 1 main, 2 skimmer, 2 returns, approx. 50ft TDH, Raypak RP2100 heater and I am adding a new Hayward S224T sand filter. My current pump is a 3/4hp AO Smith 115V. I want to upgrade to a Variable speed pump. Upgrading elec. service to 230v not an issue. Is this pump a good option? if not what do you recommend? Thanks.

Hi, Greg. This model has been replaced by the Hayward Super Pump VS Pump - SP2603VSP for which along with the PureLine Prime VS Pump - PL2605, or the PureLine Titan 2 H.P Variable Speed Pool Pump - PL2516 are great options for your pool.

I have a Hayward SP2600VSP that has 3 preset speeds (V1, V2, V3). The salesman told me this is a programmable pump. But the only thing I can do is set a specific duration for each V speed. For example, I put 10 hours on V3, 5 hours on V2 and 8 hours on V3. It goes from one V speed to the next after the set duration but at the end of the 24 hours, it stays on V3. This is not programmable but a useless timer that needs to be reset every day. Is this correct or am I doing something wrong?
Reply
Hi, Raffi. The SP2600VSP can be re-programmed, however, only V3 and V2 are the only speed that has a time duration. See the Hayward Super Pump SP2600VSP Owners Manual for more info.
Reply
I understand only V3 and V2 have time duration. But is there a way to cycle back and forth AUTOMATICALLY every day? What is happening now is that it is eventually going toV1 and staying there forever. Is this normal?
Reply
Raffi just looking up info. on the setting of speeds and time and saw your post. It absolutely is a terrible program. After pool techs came to my house, called Hayward, and had many conversations, we all came to the conclusion that it doesn't matter what time or speed you set V2 or V3 at, once the V3 cycle is over it goes to V1 and remains there until you press another button.
