The all-new Super Pump VS is right-sized, particularly for applications with 1.5” plumbing, providing tremendous energy savings that result in an even faster return on investment.
Super Pump VS provides customizable speed, duration and priming time to match the needs of both aftermarket and new construction installations. Programmable timers and a totally-enclosed permanent magnet motor mean this pump meets the requirements of swimming pool efficiency standards such as Title 20 and APSP-15.
Upgrade to Super Pump VS and save energy and money!
The Super Pump VS variable speed pump featuring an integrated variable-speed drive and totally
enclosed, permanent magnet motor that can save up to 80% in energy costs over single-speed pump alternatives
At 1.5 total horsepower, Super Pump VS is sized to match the performance of the most common medium-head pumps, resulting in a faster payback as compared to larger and more expensive variable speed models.
Super Pump VS is an ideal upgrade for those looking to reduce energy use and save money.
Product Description
I have 1-1/2"piping on 16x32 ingound, can I use Tristar VS or should I go with Superpump VS? Would running pump 24 hrs on 1000RPM be adequate with salt generator system?
Reply
Hello Ruth - You can use the Tri-Star VS on 1.5" pvc plumbing. The ports would require a common reducer fitting. 1000 RPM may be adequate but we couldn't guarantee it. The minimum RPM is not known until the pump is installed. At that point you can test the RPM settings.

After priming, I pressed the V3 button and the V3 LED is lit. Display shows it's running at 3000 but also shows Timer 2 is running (V2 LED is not lit). How do I confirm which timer is running?
Reply
Since you overrode Timer 2 by pressing the V3 button, it will stay at that speed for the duration of timer 2. So it's in timer 2 but a V3 Speed.

How do I vacuum with the Hayward VS super pump 2602? I also got a new 3port diverter valve. When I try to vacuum I lose suction except when port is in a neutral position. In any other position, no water goes to the pump. I've had a pool for 30 years and have never had this problem.
Reply
With the Hayward VS Super Pump (SP2602VSP) on the max RPM's adjust the 3 Port valve to what source you're using for the vacuuming, whether it's your skimmer or dedicated vacuum line.

How do you turn the digital interface in the opposite direction?
Reply
Hi Steve, The digital interface on the Hayward Super Pump VS Variable Speed Pump is not rotateable, the Hayward EcoStar Variable Speed Pump has that option.

(5 out of 5 stars) Hayward Super Pump VS Variable Speed Pump

Pros: Economy, quietness and variable speeds
Cons: none
I work in a field where we use electric motors everyday. Upgrading from a 110 volt motor to a 220 volt motor is a very wise thing to do not only from an economical stand point but also will add longevity to the motor as it will not have to work as hard. This Hayward variable speed motor has performed flawlessly.

Pros: Great when it worked
Cons: Only worked for two seasons
Purchased this unit April 2014 now digital display can't be read and none of buttons work to change settings, speed and factory reset. Pump runs full blast only. Now of course out of warranty. Hayward said have to take to local repair place like pinch a penny.
