can i install and echo star variable speed pump using the existing timer?

You can install the Hayward EcoStar Variable Speed pump to your existing timer, but really the timer you have becomes obsolete. The VS pump has a built in timer. If your existing timer has the on/off pins, you can remove them and maintain continuous power to the VS pump.

I have a Hayward Ecommand 2 controller (5 years old) system with a 2HP standard pump for a 25000 gallon pool with water feature(six spitters on an Auxilliary Y valve)...
The pump just went...I would like to upgrade to a variable speed pump. What is your recommendation (?tri-star 1.85 HP??) Does/will the pump interface with the Ecommand 2 system or just use all by itself?

PS, I have purchased heat pump and controller through your company as well.

My pool pop-ups aren't cleaning very well with my new variable speed pump. What are the proper rpms for a pop-up cleaning system?

What is the distance from your pump to your pop-ups so I can calculate the flow rate for you.

I have a Hayward SP3200VSPND Variable pump. I am having an air leak problem, I have replaced the drain plugs and o rings, the strainer cover and seals, the strainer basket as well. I have an air pocket that continues to build on the left side of the basket that turns into a cyclone spinning inside the strainer basket after a couple hours. It takes me about 5-6 minutes to bleed out the air each time. My question, can the strainer basket housing itself warp, or go bad.

Yes, it is possible that the pump housing can warp, but if you are bleeding the air from the filter your leak may be coming from the filter.

I am trying to decide on witch VS pump to get. I have been looking at Hayward, pentair and pureline. I would like a pump that has a built in timer so i can set turn on off times.

I recommend part number PL2615. That pump has the capability to pump everything with your pump from your phone.

I have a 14,700gal inground pool with 1.5in pipes and 40ft of head. I'm also thinking of adding a solar water heating system on a roof which is 12ft above ground. I can upsize the pipes near the filter and pump as well as the solar heating system. Located in Florida. Would this pump be suitable for both the current and expanded system or do you recommend another? Thanks.

Hi Tom, the SP3200VSPND is the version of the TriStar VS Pump designed to connect directly to Hayward Automation Systems. If you do not have a Hayward Automation system, the SP3200VSP has an Integrated, programmable digital interface with a 24-hour programmable clock and up to 8 custom timer functions. Both models of this pump are suitable for your application.
