How does the dual speed feature of this pump work?

Some dual speed pumps have a toggle switch in the back of the motor to change speeds manually, but many do not. Generally you would need to tie this dual speed pump into one of our dual speed pump timers/controllers. One of the more popular models is the Digital PE153 series. This timer has 3 functions: one to turn the pump on and off, a second auxiliary to switch from high speed to low speed, and then a third for any other piece of pool equipment. Can SP2610x152s replace SP4010x152NS without alteration to pluming and power line . If not , what would be the best replacement with no alteration to pluming and power .

Hi, Mossa. This SP2615X202S will not replace the SP4010x152NS. The closest replacement option will be the Hayward TriStar 1 HP, Energy Efficient, Full Rated, Dual-Speed Pump - SP32102EE. Slight alterations will need to be made.

The variable speed pool pump that I would recommend is the PL2606. It has about a half of a horsepower more than your current motor but can be set at whatever RPM you choose that your system works well with.

I have the hayward SP2615x202s, the motor say frame is 56j, but isnt this a y frame, it is square flange, I need a 2hp, SINGLE speed replacment that will fit this. I have ordered 3 but none fit, please help

Hello Phillip. The Hayward Motor SP1615Z2MSE is a 56J frame. The Super Pump Motor Mounting Plate gives it the appearance of a square flange motor. The Century 2.0 HP Round Flange 56J Up Rate Motor - UST1202 is a compatible Single Speed replacement motor for the Hayward Super Pump. The Tune Up Kit Hayward Super Pump - GOKIT3 contains the necessary parts to complete the motor change.
