Question on the 2" jandy 3 way valve. What are the connections. Are they all female socket 2", or are any outlets reduced in size or a male connection. Please advise. Thanks

For the 4717 you can attach it to your plumbing two different ways. You can take 2" piping and have it fit inside the valve (so the valve would be female) or you can take a 2 1/2" pipe and fit it over the valve (so the valve would be male).

I just bought a house with a pool. i'v never had a pool so my question is when the pump comes on automaticaly (it has a timer)what position is the jandy valve supposed to be turned to the main drain or skimmer?

You can turn the valve so that all the suction is going to the drain at the bottom of the pool, this will suck any dirt or debris on the bottom of the pool through the drain and clean through the filter. If you turn the valve so the suction is going to the skimmer then you will be pulling any leaves or debris off the surface of the pool. You can also set the valve in a half way position so you are pulling from both the skimmer and main drain. I hope this helps.

Why do the Jandy valves list ID and OD for each valve?
Reply
Each Jandy valve is designed to connect to two different size pipes. For example on a valve shown with ID 1 1/2" and OD 2", a 1 1/2" pipe can be glued inside the port or a 2" pipe can be glued on the outside of the port.

I have this valve installed at my pump. I have a lot of air coming out of the pool jets and it doesn't stop. If I rotate the valve to vacuum and back to skimmer, it clears the air immediately. Do you have any suggestions?

I would recommend checking the gaskets/o-rings on the valve and pump housing. They may be letting air into the system.

what is the part number for a replacement diverter and O-rings for this valve? Mine is leaking and the diverter has separated.

can you install Union connectors to the Jandy Valves for quick repairs or replacement if needed? I am in the process of replacing my pump and re-routing some new pvc Piping and considering replacing the Valves as well. What would you recommend?

Hi, Jayson. You can install this Union Assembly, 2"s X 2"s - 400-5050 with this valve or get the CMP Clear CPVC 3-Way Valve with Unions - 25923-209-000.

how does this compare to the Jandy valve in function and durability? Do they use the same seals and replacement parts?

Hi Chris, these are identical to the Never-Lube valves and use the same replacement parts.
