I'm trying to replace a Sta Rite ABG4E-2A4 above ground pump and this pump seems like a good replacement. Is that so?

Yes this model is a good replacement. Keep in mind that if you have specific hose union connections that they may not work and you may need to use standard male threaded nipples to clamp standard above ground hoses to them.

I have received your dynamo pump 1 hp
part no.340197 the only problem is that the outlet on the impeller housing is to small I need an adapter to make it larger so that the original hose can be screwed on to it. any suggestions
the original hose is larger than the dynamo outlet

You should be able to use a saddle clamp to clamp the hose to a smaller diameter pvc pipe that can insert into the hose itself.

would this pump be a good replacement for a Pentair 1 1/2 Challenger Pump ?
I am using it to pump out ground water under my inground pool , when we have flooding rain.

Hi Rich, This pump would not be a good replacement for a Pentair Challenger pump. You will need a in-ground pool pump not an above ground pool pump to accomplish that task. We do have the Pentair Challenger Pumps available.

Hi Herbie, The Sta-Rite Dynamo Pump 1 HP w/ STD Cord - 340197SR is the correct Dynamo pump that will replace the JWPA5EL-2A2.

I have an 16,000 gal above ground pool with sta-rite T-210WF 200lb sand filter rated at 44usgpm, 35psi. I currently have a sta-rite JWPAS5F-2A4 pump assem. 1 1/2".What pump would you recommend? Also I would like to go up to 240 volt. Thanks, Robert

If you want a 220V pump it'll have to be an inground pool pump. Which isn't a problem, you just have to be able to plumb it properly. If you wanted a recommendation though I would go with part number P6RA6E205L for your current system.

Hi Lisa, the BN25 1 HP Replacement Motor is the correct motor for the Dynamo 340197 pump. When replacing this motor we also suggest this Dynamo Seal Kit

I show that this is the pump that we have for 24 round pool. We pulled the number and information off of our current pump. The only difference is our old pump with this number shows that it is 1.5hp and this shows 1hp. Has this changed or do we need a different pump?

Hi, Donna. The pump hasn't changed, the pump you have is just labeled differently.

When I try to use my hand held vacuum and put the one end of the hose in the skimmer basket it sucks the water out of the pump and the pump won't pick the water back up until I remove the hose. I never had this problem before and I think it's the pump/motor on this new replacement pump I got last year. Please advise

Ronald, this issue is surely abnormal. What is the model number off of the cleaner you are using? Does the head of the cleaner stay in the pool when you plug it in? Have you inspected the hoses for damage? Any cracks, anywhere where the vacuum might be sucking up air?

Can you please tell me the difference between this pump and the sta rite? They look the exact same to me. I am trying to replace the pump I already have. I want the exact same one if possible. I have attached pictures of the info off of the pump I have now. Thanks!
Hi, Amy. The only difference is the Brand name. Otherwise, all parts and components are the same between the Pentair and Sta-Rite Dynamo pumps.
