Will a gas heater operate at the low speed of a dual speed motor?
Reply
Probably not - Most gas heater will shut off at low GPM levels (20-40) to keep the heater cores from overheating - 20 for 200 BTUs, 40 for 400 BTUs. Depending on your pool system you might get these GPM levels at the low speed but generally these heaters must be run at the motor's high speed.

Ted, This heater can handle any where from 33-120 GPM. A 1.5 THP pump will be good, anything larger you'll nave to install a manual bypass.

What is the difference between the SR 333NA and the HD model? What advantages or disadvantages does the cupric nickel provide?
Reply
The only difference between the two is the SR333HD is rated as a Heavy Duty heater with a cupro-nickel heat exchanger that stands up to the harshest of applications like low pH, high flow, or heavy use.

Will this heater work with a 3 hp pool pump and a aqualink rs6 control system
Reply
Hi Jerry, A 3 HP pump can be used with this heater if the flow rate does not exceed 120 gpm, if it does you will need to install a manual bypass. It can also be wired to a Jandy Aqualink RS system.

Is the Sta Rite Cupro Nickel HD 333k Btu available in Propane?

Hi, Pablo. The HD models are not available in Propane. A NG to Propane Conversion Kit -77707-1451 will need to be purchased and installed.

If I convert the SR333HD to Propane with the Propane Conversion Kit -77707-1451, will the warranty still be intact if I do the installation myself? Also, does the blower motor or any other part need to be considered for this conversion?

Good day, there will not be a warranty if a homeowner were to do the conversion. A licensed tech would be the one that would have to do the change.

What size heater should I get for a 10,000 gallon saltwater pool? Would the 200000 BTU version be large enough or should I go for the 333000 BTU model? I live in Oklahoma.

Hi, Ron. Heaters are sized using the pool's surface area. You can use our Sizing Your Pool Heater Blog for more info.
