I need to replace my the capacitor on my 1.5HP pool pump. Do you carry the capacitor I need?

Please note that capacitors store an electric charge and should be handled with the utmost caution and care. We do not encourage handling a capacitor without any type of safety measures in place and highly recommend contacting a professional service company for repair/replacement. For those that feel comfortable changing the capacitor here's >How to replace a pool pump capacitor. In order to match up the capacitor you will need more specifications on the capacitor. You will need to match the voltage, the MFD, whether or not the capacitor is a >run or >start type and the actual dimensions of the capacitor body.

I need the part number for a start capacitor for Pool Pump Motor UST 1252. I called the technical help line and they told me to buy capacitor BC 124. BC 124 is rated for 125 VAC and Pump UST 1252 is 250 VAC. The start capacitor I am replacing is rated for 36uF and 250 VAC. Please let me know what replacement start capacitor I need to order.
Thank you, Ray Smith

cap rated @ 125vac 124-148uf if i'm running it with input power
of 110 volts? It is for a pool moter rated to run either 110 or 220.

Can you confirm 5270-14 is the correct replacement for the NGM 124-148 mFD 220VAC start capacitor? The physical size is correct but the mFD and VAC ratings are significantly different. Thanks.
Even though 570-14 says 120 volt not 220 volt ??

I have the ust1202 pump which was just humming rather than starting up. The capacitor in it is a 124-149mf 165vac ngm 61b1d160124nnao. I tried a new capacitor with the same ratings and the motor started right up the pump ran for about 1 minute before the capacitor blew. Is this the correct capacitor for this motor? What would cause it to blow if is correct?
Reply
Hi, Peter. Since your motor immediately blew the capacitor the issue could be the motor. Starting with the winding, stationary switch and or the thermal overload. This capacitor is only rated at 125 VAC, it will not replace a 165 VAC which we do not have.
