I need to replace my Goldline AQL-P4 Aqua Logic automation control. I only have a pool with a pool light. I think the board is out on it. What model can I replace it with reasonably? Will it fit into the other outside casing I have. Is it remote as well? Can I reprogram my old remote to match with it.
Reply
Hello Russ - The main board for the Aqua Logic is part number GLX-PCB-MAIN. This board will fit in your existing box. The old remote should have no issues communicating with this board.

some buttons on display panel don't work, such Menu and RT Arrow. but others work power and lights, do i need to replace the board?
Reply
Hi Roger, It's a good change that this Display is bad, not the board.

The display on my controller is not providing any info just a blank screen. Do l need to replace it

Hi Bob, It's possible that the Local Display is bad, first I would recommend following the troubleshooting instruction on page 10-11 in the Pro Logic Version 4.10 Diagnostics Manual to find out if the PCB or Display is the culprit.

When it rains my local display stops keeping time. Several hours after the rain the clock starts to work again and I would reset the clock to the correct time. My display does not go blank and My panel is water tight so no rain is getting into the panel. All other functions are working correctly on my display. Do I need to replace the display for the clock to maintain time when it rains?
Reply
Hi Joey, It's weird that this is happening only when it rains. Before replacing the display you will have to make sure that the problem is the display or else you will keep having this problem.

Replaced board about a month ago and now came home to no display. Checked 20 amp fuse and ok. How do you tell if transformer or the display or if board went bad. Thanks for your help.

Hi Mike, You can use a volt meter to test the lead from the transformer which can the instructions can be found in the Pro Logic Diagnostics Manual.

What was Joey Castro's outcome. I am having the same kind of issues. My display looks broken up like a display with moisture in it? The time gets out of whack. I am having to set the time everyday?
Reply
It is very likely that the panel is not completely air tight and is allowing water or moist air to seep in. I would recommend contacting the manufacturer, Hayward, at 1-800-657-2287 and speak with a representative about this issue. They may have a better solution as opposed to replacing the display. If not, then replacing the display panel will be the best option.

Menu & arrow keys push in but functions not responding. Disassembled key pad and inspected. looked ok. Occasionally, when pressing very hard the function will work. Other than this issue, the systems is working. Display screen automatically scrolls through the system status.

Hello Brett, I would call to troubleshoot and run diagnostic with Hayward 800-657-2287.

Is the system clock/time maintained in the display panel or the control board? My AQL-P-4 keeps terrible time, I have to reset it every day. Need to know if I need to replace the display or the control board.

Hello Mike- It sounds like you have a bad control board on your P-4/PS-4. I would give Hayward a call with your serial number at 908-355-7995 so they can make sure you get the right one.

Could you explain what "Before Date Codes 0311" means.
I installed an Aqua Logic System AQL-P-4 in 2008 and the Display is broken.
I am looking for Model 066009F-2

That means manufactured before March 2011

My display screen is blank intermittently but all buttons seem to work fine. If I tap the unit or press some buttons sometimes it wakes up and I can read it sometimes it wakes and it gives odd characters for a bit then goes normal. Will changing just the display solve this. I did have the board replaced not too long ago. All other functions work once I can read the display. Thanks

Hi. I would recommend checking the wire harness to make sure it hs a tight connection. Also, unplug harness. Check across pins 1 (red) & 3 (yellow) for 5-10VDC. If have a tight connection and getting the correct voltage the display is bad.

MY DISPLAY TELLS ME THERE IS NO POWER TO MY CELL (CLORINE GENERATOR) . IS THERE A PROBLEM WITH MY CONTROLE SYSTEM?
Reply
Hi, Arnold. There is a problem with the system. You can use the ProLogic Diagnostic Manual to troubleshoot that error.

I think my wiring harness is bad for the display. Where can I purchase just the harness?
Reply
Hi, Russell. Unfortunately, Hayward does not offer a wiring harness as a replacement part, it's only available with the PCB.

I just replaced my board after a lightening storm took it out. then my display only worked for power but could not set anything. So I replaced the display. But I can not set the pool to cholornate or check the salt on it. Is there a way to update the display? Or is the board not giving the display the information?
Reply
Sherry, The display board simply displays the information from the main circuit board. I would recommend inspecting the main board to see if there are any signs of damage. The main board may need to be replaced.

where does the pool heater get its 24 volt signal from. Is it from the main AQL-P4 main board or from the heater to the board
Reply
Hi, Peter. The heater communicates with the main controller from the main pcb.

As of the last few weeks, our display is losing time. It tracks fine for a while and then, all of a sudden, it loses time (anywhere from 2 hours - 20 hours). Any idea what would cause this? I am looking for a wiring diagram to see how the unit is powered, but have not been successful. Can you also steer me to the wiring diagrams for this entire system? I can't tell if it is the unit or the power supply. Any help will be much appreciated.

Hi, Sean. The Main PCB is bad and will need to be replaced. We do not have an internal wiring diagram for the PCB and Local display.

Hello,I am having a problem with the controls on my P-4 The buttons have stopped working they still beep when pressed but not responsive, example push the menu button and no change in the screen etc.Pump still comes on at set time everyday I just cannot make any changes.Could this be the control panel that is bad or the PCB? Thank you

Hi, Steve. Usually, with that type of issue, it's the Display that is bad, not the Main PCB.

How to reset/reprogram salt system on Hayward pro logic system I just replaced salt cell 2 months ago water test shows 4500 cell reads 2800 same thing with old and new cells
Reply
Hi, Terry. To reset the average salt read, follow these steps: Press the ‘Menu’ button repeatedly, until the ‘Diagnostic Menu’ appears. Then press (>) one time. If all zeros or if ‘Chlorinator Off Percentage Met’, press (+) key. IF, after a short countdown delay, the display does not revert to zeros, continue. If this instant salt reading varies from the average press the (>) one time. Press the (+) key to replace the existing average with this new instant salt reading; this will start the average process over again. Press the ‘Menu’ button to exit.

The filter will not shut off at the correct time. If I shut off the breaker it shuts off and when it cools down it seems to work again. After doing this for a couple of weeks, the Filter Button no longer works at all. If the button is bad what part should I order to replace the display. I have attached front/back pics of my display but could not find a model # on it.
Hi, Danny. This Local Display - GLX-LOCAL-P-4 is the correct replacement to correct the unresponsive keypad.

If i replace the display only and not the main PCB. will i need to reprogram the system such as pump times on and off and heater on and off?
Reply
When changing out the Display Local P-4 & Ps-4 Before Date Codes 0311 - GLX-LOCAL-P-4 you will not need to reprogram the unit. The settings are saved within the PCB main board.

The display flickers on and off. If I put pressure on the larger chip in the back, it will stay on. As soon as I let go, it goes off again. Is there any way to fix that or do I need to replace the whole display?
Also, where can I find the date code?
Gary

Gary, in addition to the display the issue could exist in the PCB Circuit Board AquaLogic - GLXPCBMAIN. We are not certified to troubleshoot the Hayward / Goldline AquaLogic. I would suggest calling Hayward directly to see if they can help you isolate the issue. Hayward can be reached by calling 800.429.9273.

Per Hayward that is a pc board issue and you will require this AquaLogic PCB Board if you have the AquaLogic or this ProLogic PCB Board if you have the ProLogic

will replacing this part correct an issue with the unit not keeping time?

We have replaced the main board in our Aqua Logic system, the local display showed "communication error", After troubleshooting with Hayward, we replaced the local display. The pump ran for about an hour and now the pump kicks off intermittently and the local display shows "communication error", We can push the filter button and the pump will kick on but it won't stay on for longer then a few minutes

check the cable connections & refer to the troubleshooting guide we added for communication errors
I have this display board. Right now it reads Communication Error. I’ve followed Hayward instruction to turn off and on breakers but I stil have the error and no buttons respond besides beeping. Is it the display or main board...

We would need to be on site to determiner the issue. Use the attached troubleshooting flow chart guide from the mfg. to self diagnose.
I need the connector for this key pad to the main circuit board. do you know the part number and where i can find one? It's a 4 pin connector cable about 6 or 8 inches long.

Unfortunately that is not a commonly replaced item, Hayward does not offer a part # for the cable.

My display looks identical. How do I know if it is "Pre-03/11"? I believe the pool was installed around 2007 and the controller looks original (old). Do you think I am safe?

Hi, John. You have a Pre-03/11 if your display looks identical.

I have a unit which looks identical to this photo. The only items not functioning are the menu buttons and the advance and reverse buttons to each side. Is it possible to reset the unit?

Hi, Tom. Unfortunately, the entire Display will need to be replaced.
