My back plate is in perfect condition with exception to the 2 brass female threaded inserted are missing. They are needed for screwing the defuser to it. Instead of buying a new back plate can I just use long stainless steel screws and threading it into the composite material of the back plate? Or can just not use screws?

I wouldn't screw into the material it may crack and leak. The diffuser just needs to be held in. If you still have screw holes that are staggered it will be fine.

I have a jandy jhpu pump assembly i cannot get a new base because they are no longer available. Can i use my existing motor on a new pump shpf assembly

Those two pump models have motors with different frame sizes, one being round flange and the other being square flange, so it will not work.

Does the Backplate Kit come with the shaft seal and the o-ring as shown in the picture? There is no description in the "details" section. Thanks

My SHPM1.5 pump started leaking near the backplate and the electric motor. I assume it is the two shaft seals. Would I be correct most likely?

Most commonly this does describe a shaft seal failure. Especially if the leak is specifically coming from the back of the plate where the shaft seal is located. You may want to double check the plate for any hairline cracks as well.

Jandy Stealth Pump, Model# JHPU1.5
There is a crack on the Backplate of the pump (Model# JHPU1.5).
But the photo of your part# R0445200 does NOT look exactly to the one in my pump.
(I ordered a service kit of "Tune Up Kit Jandy JHP + JHPU Series Pump", item# "GOKIT77"). The Gasket does fit).
Need some recommendation from you on the Backplate.
Thanks.

The two screws which go through the Diffuser and into the Backplate have come out and can't be screwed back in due to the nuts in the backplate having rusted. Can those nuts be replace or do I have to get the entire backplate?

Hello Stephen. There is no repair for the Backplate brass inserts that are used to secure the diffuser. The Backplate would need to be replaced. The Backplate Kit R0445200 would provide the necessary parts to complete this repair.
