What is the difference between an inline and offline chlorinator?
Reply
An inline chlorinator would be plumbed directly inline with the plumbing. For an existing pool, this would mean a section of pipe would need to be cut out to install the chlorinator. An offline chlorinator attaches to existing plumbing by chlorinator tubing (holes would be drilled into existing pipe to attach the tubing.)

Will this impede the water flow to the pool from the pump ?

Hi Bruce, The inline chlorinators do bottleneck the plumbing somewhat causing higher PSI and can restrict flow a bit. If this is a concern then we would suggest the PL0002 Off-Line Pool Chlorinator which does not have these issues.

What's a good default setting for a 24' round above-ground pool?
Reply
Hi Dave, so the average swimming pool needs 1 chlorine tablet per 5k gallons of pool water. With that said you can use 3 tablets per week during the swim season and have the chlorinator turned all the way up. During cooler seasons the chlorine will need to be monitored and the amount added to it adjusted accordingly.

Yes this will work on a 17,000 gallon pool, you will just need some standard plumbing fittings from your local hardware store to install.
