Is this unit compatible with the Spectrum Amerlite SAm by Pentair? How are color schemes changed?
Reply
Hi Steve, If you are replacing the complete light fixture and cord then the Pure Colors Light Fixture will fit in the same niche as the Spectrum Amerlite SAm without a problem. If you have other Spectrum Amerlite SAm lights in the pool or spa, then the Pure Colors will not synchronize with those lights. The color schemes are changed by powering the light on and off, normally this is through a standard light switch or an automated control system. So you just flip the light switch on and off relatively quickly to cycle through the color shows. We also have a Video on How to Replace a Pool Light Fixture which you may find helpful.

Hi, The only info I was able to find is from Commercial Aquatic Supplies which states that "If you wish to change to LED lights in the Jacuzzi Q 500 niche you will need the IDS Q 500 Adaptor Ring and the Pentair Intellibrite 5G Spa light." I think the current light I have is Sta-Rite / Swimquip Pool Light by all my searches. This light has been badly damaged by high stabilizer levels (160+ppm) by the previous owner. all that was legible on the light was model 5057. the label disintegrated as I tried to lightly brush the corrosion off. I don't want to stick this back in the new pool water, even if I rebuild it. Will this light fit? I have confirmed 120V wiring. I also don't need 50' of cord, only 10'

Hi Dawn, This PureColors LED Color Changing Light Fixture is what we would suggest as it will replace your Hayward ColorLogic. What if you have two of those Jandy R0474100 lights that match together when changing colors, etc? And you only replace one of them with this light? I'm guessing maybe I need to replace both of my Jandy's? And then the next question would be: Will my Jandy controller still be able to change colors or control the different colors for these new lights?
Reply
Hi Jay, If you want both lights to be on the same color rotation then both lights will need to be from the same manufacturer so in your case if you were going with the Pure Colors and you wanted both lights synchronized then you would need to replace both lights. You will be able to control your lights through your control system by powering the lights on and off relatively quickly you will cycle through the different color shows. The nice thing about these lights are they have memory so say you set your lights on your controller to turn off at 11 PM and turn on at 7 PM when they turn on at 7 PM they will default to the last color show you had them on. This is nice once you find your favorite color show. Please note you will not see the color show readout on your Jandy AquaLink.

Replacing a leaking Sta-Rite SunBrite grommet style light. 120v, 300w halogen bulb. I can’t ID the stainless wet niche but the light and niche are original install in 2001 so I assume it’s probably also Sta-Rite. Niche measures about 9.75” diameter and 8.75” deep. Face ring measures at 10 1/16” and has screw hole at top and tab at bottom. Wet niche has no other attachment point for ring except corresponding hole and tab locations. Will this Amerlite combo fit my niche?
I have an iAqualink 2.0 management system. Do these bulbs work with that system? Maybe working like the Intellibrite bulbs?

Hi Storm, The Pure Colors Bulbs will work on the iAqualink but you will not get the color show readout on your iAqualink display. You will power the light auxiliary on and off within the AquaLink to get to your favorite color show. Once you find your favorite color show and set a timer on your iAquaLink then the Pure Colors does have memory so each night it will turn back on, on the color show which was last selected.

Hi Kerrie, Yes the PureLine PureColors will fit in the same niche as your Jandy series CPHVLEDS50 and would be a great replacement. Please note if you have more than one light in your pool and spa then you will need to have all the lights from the same manufacturer for there color rotation to synchronize. For example, if you had 2 pool lights and 1 spa light and you wanted them all to synchronize together then they would all need to PureLine PureColors.

Hi Dave, Yes the PL5831 PureColors Light Fixture will work as a replacement for the Hayward ColorLogic. The great thing about the PureColors is if the bulb ever goes bad then the bulb is replaceable by doing an easy bulb swap at $150, unlike the ColorLogic where you have to replace the entire fixture at $1,000 if the board goes bad. If you have multiple lights in your pool and/or spa then they will all need to be PureColors if you would like them to be on the same color rotation.

Tommy, you will be fine to open the lens on the PureLine PureColors LED Bulb & Pentair Amerlite Pool Light Fixture Kit 120V 50' Cord it will not void the warranty. The gasket has never been submerged so there is no reason to change it, you would just use the same gasket that came with the fixture.

Does the light have a gradual change? Or does it not flow well? I saw a video where the pool went about black everytime the light changed colors.
And does it matter if this bulb goes into the 300w, 400w, or 500w Amerlite?

Hi Brian, this light is no longer available however yes this model and similar LED light fixtures models can gradually change colors.
