I have a Pentair 340038 that has a 1HP motor 196238 mated to it. my system is only running at 10 psi and I would like to increase it to clean my pool more effectively. will this 2HP pump fit?

Hi, Matthew. A filtration system running at 10 PSI is okay. In order to increase the pump's water flow, you will have to make sure your system is larger enough to handle the water flow and change the motor, impeller, and diffuser of the pump to all match along with the pump seals. All parts are listed on the Pentair SuperFlo Pump Parts Diagram.

Hi, Bob. Yes, this PL2855 motor will replace P/N 7-177476-28. You will also need the Whisperflo Tune Up Kit - GOKIT32 or GOKIT32SALT.

I am trying to find a replacement motor for our pool waterfall pump. I am not finding anything that is a direct replacement. Could you recommend a replacement motor?
56y and 48y square flange frames are interchangeable.1/2" wider body diameter but identical hole spacing.
will this 2hp motor replace a century ao smith 2hp hayward spx2715z1me threaded shaft. usq 1202 is recommend 48y replacement

Hi, Monty. Yes, this PL2855 motor can be used as a replacement. The USQ1202 and or the SPX2715Z1ME are options that can be used.

thanks, cleaned old motor, put new capacitors,go-kit with seals, etc. bench test motor not installed in pump housing yet.after installation will test all equip and plumbing if ok will run all for test period. now know usq 1202 1252 etc and pl2855 are ok century purline ao smith and several others are same osr similar made under different names for new owners of ao smith century

Hi Pete, No this is not the proper replacement motor for the Jandy Pro Series model # SHPM 2.0-2 pump. You will require the Century B983 Motor which is the direct replacement motor. We also suggest a shaft seal when replacing your motor If the serial # on your pump is Before P08FF0001 then you will require this Old Style Jandy Shaft Seal and If the serial # on your pump is After P08FF0001 then you will require this New Style Jandy Shaft Seal

Hi Pete, the SHPM 2.0-2 references a two-speed motor so if you are ok with going with a single-speed motor then yes this PL2855 Motor would work as an inexpensive option for replacement. Please note that the PL2855 is set up for 230V operation which was the same the SHPM 2.0-2 pump.

Can I upgrade my pull pump motor from a 1.5hp to a 2.0hp, I have a water fall feature and a 28000 gallon pool, the current motor tends to strain and not able to work the fountain, pool sweep, and regular filter all at once. I have a pentair 48 DE filter with 1.5in pipes.

Hi Chris, Could you give us the information off of the motor for your current pump like HP, Amps, Volts, SF, Frame, Model #, etc.. Also could you give us the pump make and model information, common pump names would be Pentair Whisperflo, Pentair Challenger, Jandy Stealth, etc.. Hi Chris, It looks like you have a Sta-Rite Dura Glas and based on your photos if you wanted to go up to 2 HP you would need the following items. SQ1202 Motor a 2 HP Impeller and this Seal Kit

are the 48y and 56y square flange exactly the same size about 1/2 inches. will this motor square flange fit in the spx2700e sea; plate as usq1202.
the 56y body is larger on the motor casing only not on the square flange, no problem with larger diameter body housing possible benefit

The dimensions of the motor flange is the exact same between the 48Y and 56Y. The only difference being the diameter of the motor barrel. If the 56Y motor is a tight squeeze, motor pump motor stands have a small removable insert to give the motor enough room.

Current motor is Century model B130 2 HP Frame X56J 230 Volts Part 0-159988-06. I believe it is burnt out. Sparks and "pop" at startup and trips breaker. It's about 7 years old and installed on Hayward Replacement Series RS2000 pump. Is this motor compatible? See photos.

I have a WhisperFlo Model WF-28 C pump and Century B855 2HP Frame Y56Y motor
It leaks slightly from bottom. Will this fit as a replacement? Should I also try your seal repair kit first?
